Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Liberia and a law degree from Quinnipiac<br />

University, USA. Cllr. Bull also served as a professor of Management & Supervision in Law<br />

En<strong>for</strong>cement and Criminal Evidence at Shaw University, USA. In the public sector, Cllr. Bull served<br />

as a member of the Interim Legislative Assembly, the Constitutional Advisory Assembly, the Public<br />

Procurement and Concession Commission, the Panel of Experts <strong>for</strong> the Selection of Commissioners<br />

of the Independent National <strong>Human</strong> <strong>Rights</strong> Commission of Liberia, and as Vice President of the<br />

International Federation of Women Lawyers.<br />

Reverand Gerald B. Coleman, Member<br />

Rev. Coleman is an electrical engineer and project manager by training, having completed a masters<br />

degree in electrical engineering (M.S.E.E.) and post graduate studies at Northeastern University, USA.<br />

Rev. Coleman is the Spiritual Elder and founding national missionary of the Unification Movement of<br />

Liberia and has worked <strong>with</strong> the mission <strong>for</strong> over 25 years. In 1996, he was commissioned Ambassador<br />

and Special Envoy of the Government of Liberia to the Far East. During this period, he worked<br />

<strong>for</strong> the peaceful transition to civilian government by facilitating several peace-building, scholarship,<br />

cultural exchange, and food-aid programs between Asia and Liberia. In 2000, Rev. Coleman helped<br />

launch the Inter-Religious & International Federation <strong>for</strong> World Peace of Liberia (IIFWP-Liberia). <strong>The</strong><br />

National Transitional Legislative Assembly asked Rev. Coleman to help facilitate the establishment of<br />

the current TRC, a process which culminated in the final passage of the TRC Act of Liberia in June<br />

2005.<br />

John H. T. Stewart, Member<br />

John H. T. Stewart is a Liberian journalist and activist in Liberia. He was educated at the University of<br />

Liberia and has held numerous positions including local consultant <strong>for</strong> the Media Foundation <strong>for</strong> West<br />

Africa, reporter <strong>for</strong> Channel Africa, regional coordinator <strong>for</strong> the Catholic Justice and Peace Commission,<br />

in<strong>for</strong>mation assistant <strong>for</strong> the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and National Assistant Field<br />

Security Advisor to the United Nations Development Program. Commissioner Stewart’s advocacy<br />

ef<strong>for</strong>ts include work <strong>with</strong> the Citizens of Liberia Against Gambling (COLAG), Citizens of Liberia in<br />

Defense of Albert Porte (COLIDAP), and the Movement <strong>for</strong> Justice in Africa (MOJA). He has been<br />

an advocate <strong>for</strong> the past 30 years and has suffered imprisonment as well as physical and mental torture<br />

as a result of his ef<strong>for</strong>ts. As a journalist, he served as associate editor of the New Democrat Weekly<br />

and presenter of the Radio Veritas Topical Issues program.<br />

Massa A. Washington, Member<br />

Massa A. Washington is a journalist <strong>with</strong> more than 20 years of experience. She holds a B.A.<br />

in mass communication from the University of Liberia and took a leave from graduate studies at<br />

Temple University School of Social Administration and Management, USA, to take up her post as a<br />

commissioner. Her past positions include Public Relations Officer of the Liberian National Red Cross<br />

Society, Senior Reporter <strong>for</strong> the New Liberian Newspaper, and News Editor <strong>for</strong> the Independent<br />

Inquirer. Commissioner Washington covered the Liberian crises extensively, reporting in a column in the<br />
