Ulundi and its surrounding rural areas are subsistence in orientation and have little formal<br />

training in agriculture. Few pr<strong>of</strong>essionals like doctors. lawyers. managers and accountants<br />

operate in Ulundi since they require a relatively high threshold population to sustain their<br />

businesses.<br />

Table 6.5 demonstrates the chi-square tests on the level <strong>of</strong> education and the types <strong>of</strong><br />

occupation <strong>of</strong> household heads <strong>of</strong> Ulundi in 2007. In testing for the relationship bemeen<br />

occupation types <strong>of</strong> household heads and their respective levels <strong>of</strong> education. a chi-square<br />

result <strong>of</strong>59.132 with a significance level <strong>of</strong>0.00 (i.e.. less than 0.05). was obtained indicating<br />
