O VOLONTERSTVU DANAS
Volonterstvo se smatra neplaćenim, nekarijerističkim, neprofitabilnim i
slobodno izabranim djelovanjem radi dobrobiti zajednice ili društva. Zakon
o volonterstvu Republike Hrvatske jednako definira volonterstvo, no dodaje
Kroz predavanje
ćemo problematizirati altruističnu narav volonterstva kroz evolucijsku
perspektivu i socijalne teorije, povezati ih s beneficijama koje država kroz
civilni sektor nudi volonterima te kritički preispitati samu ulogu volonterskih
organizacija unutar politike, ekonomije i društva.
ON VOLUNTEERING TODAY
Today volunteering is considered to be an unpaid activity which is
not career-oriented and which an individual chooses freely in order to do
good for the community or the society. Volunteering Act of the Republic
of Croatia defines volunteering in the same way, but adds that volunteers
“work for the community, in the same time developing their skills and acquiring
new ones, which can later be applied in the job market”. In the last
decade volunteering activities blossomed on the global level, but also in
Croatia, generating the faith in the potential of civil society which can successfully
“fill in” the gaps created by the state and the market. In the course
of the lecture we will problematise the altruistic nature of volunteering
through the evolutionist perspective and social theories, connect them with
the benefits the state provides to volunteers through the civil sector, and
critically examine the role of volunteering organisations within politics,
economy and the society.
