POJAM VRSIZMA: DUNAYER VS. SINGER
112 godina nakon prve »prave pravaške« knjige Prava životinja (1892.)
Henryja Salta i 29 godina nakon knjige Oslobođenje životinja (1975.) Petera
gurnula pod reflektore javnosti i struke, dolazi druga knjiga autorice Joan
i potpunu fizičku, ustavnu i zakonsku emancipaciju svih ne-ljudskih
CONCEPT OF SPECIESISM: DUNAYER vs. SINGER
112 years after the first “real animal rights” book Animals’ Rights (1892)
written by Henry Salt, and 29 years after the book Animal Liberation (1975)
written by Peter Singer, that doesn’t differ much from the previous one when
it comes to ideas and arguments, but with its revolutionary strength it put
the animal rights as a subject under the spotlight of publicity and profession,
emerged Speciesism, the second book by Joan Dunayer (2004) that lift up the
level of indulgence towards non-human conscious and sensible Earthlings
high enough that neither anthropochauvinists, nor old or new-speciesists
cannot reach, and that, of course, immediately emphasised already known
difference, made by two opposing positions within the movement for animal
liberation; the one that under the mask of animal rights advocates only the
regulations, making excuses that “the time isn’t right yet” or “we should be
reasonable”, and the one that with its abolitionist approach demands instant
and total physical, constitutional and legal emancipation of all non-humans
as well as whole nations being massively killed in a silent holocaust.
