why Lancelot trusts them, and Mulan says that Phillip trusted Lancelot and that they don’t seek
vengeance. Aurora agrees... but draws a dagger when Mulan’s back is turned.
As Lancelot provides a meal, he admits that they don’t know how some of them in this region
escaped the curse. They were forced to fight to find the haven, but he assures them that they’re
safe. Mary Margaret asks if there is a way back but Lancelot warns that the ogres have returned
to the Enchanted Forest. He insists that there are no more portals left but Mary Margaret says
that she knows of one that is left. She’s reluctant to speak near Cora but Lancelot says that the
curse stripped her of her powers. They only keep her locked up as a precaution, but Lancelot
agrees that she’s dangerous. He agrees to let them go but only if they take Mulan with them.
Mary Margaret immediately agrees.
Lancelot takes Snow to King George, who says that he’s not there to kill her. As Lancelot
brings her water, King George explains that love can be destroyed and he knows of pain. James
rejected his offer of a kingdom and chose true love instead, and King George tells Snow that he
knows of true love. She became cursed and drank a potion that made it impossible for them to
conceive a child.
James rejected George’s offer so the king has decided to make him suffer pain. Snow looks
down at the water and she realizes that King George cursed her so that she would never bear a
child.
Mulan offers Snow White and Emma their choice of weapons. Emma asks for her gun back
and Mulan give her the strange weapon. She warns them that ogres are more dangerous than
anything she can conceive. As they leave, Mary Margaret tells Emma that they can use the
wardrobe to get back to Storybrooke, but first they must find out if it survived the curse. To
obtain it, they must go home.
Henry finds Jefferson at the docks as the man looks at child’s drawing of himself and words
saying her father is missing. Jefferson says that he can’t help and suggests that he talk to Regina
and see what is in her vault. Henry sees the picture and knows that his daughter is looking for
her father. He wonders why Jefferson isn’t there at school to get Paige and asks why he isn’t
trying to find her daughter, and Jefferson says that he left her. He explains that he was going
there but fate reminded him that he shouldn’t see her, and Henry says that not knowing is the
worst thing.
Regina is packing up at her office when she gets a call from Henry. He asks to have lunch
with her and Regina says that she’ll see him at the diner in ten minutes. Once she leaves, Henry
slips in the back door and takes Regina’s ring of keys.
Mulan picks a spot to camp for the night and suggests they build a fire. Emma reminds them
that the ogres are about. Mary Margaret explains that ogres are almost blind and hunt by scent
and smell, and suggests that Emma stay there while they get food and water.
Emma reluctantly agrees.
The king’s men dump Snow in the forest amidst the ruins of the rebel camp. Lancelot rides
up and Snow knocks him off his horse, but he says that he’s there to help. He insists that he
has some honor left and warns her that George has sent men to kill James’s mother.
At the cabin, James is with his mother Ruth when he hears horses approaching. He sends
Ruth inside and goes to confront the newcomers, but the soldiers surround him. Ducking and
weaving, James takes the fight to them and kills them. Ruth comes out, hit by a stray arrow, and
James runs to her. She admits that she came to help when she thought she was hurt. Lancelot
and Snow arrive and Ruth looks up at her daughter in law.
As night falls, Aurora ambushes Mary Margaret and prepares to kill her, blaming her for
Phillip’s death. Mary Margaret tosses her to the ground and says that she know it feels like to
be separated from those one loves. Emma steps in and fires a warning shot, but the ogres hear
the sound and move in. They split up and Mary Margaret and Emma go one way. Emma trips
and Mary Margaret runs on, unknowing. An ogre emerges from the woods and Emma reaches
for her gun, but the ogre grabs it and crushes it. As it bellows at her, Snow returns and yells at
the ogre. As it comes at her, Snow shoots an arrow into its eye and kills it. Emma is surprised
that she knew her mother could hit the target, and Mary Margaret admits that she didn’t know
for sure. She tells Emma to listen to her and warns that the gun won’t work there, and Emma
admits that she’s right.
Lancelot warns the others that the arrow is poisoned and James realizes that they need to go
to Lake Nostos and use the magical waters to heal Ruth. They put Ruth on a wagon and head to
