Once Upon A Time Episode Guide
eggs. Red tells her that it’s okay and Snow admits she hid in the barn to stay warm and because
she heard the wolf howling. Snow gives a fake name and admits that someone is hunting her
down. Red understands and Snow asks her to call her Mary. They go to the well and Red explains
that it’s Wolfstime and that the creature kills cattle. As they pull up the bucket, they realize that
it’s filled with blood. Snow turns and discovers that the wolf has killed the hunting party and left
them in the field.
Mary Margaret comes to see Emma and asks how David is. Emma admits that they haven’t
found anything about Kathryn and comments that they do know that she gave Mary Margaret
a well-deserved slap. When Mary Margaret wonders if she means that, Emma warns that she’s
just preparing her for what other people will think. She warns that some people will think that
David killed Kathryn and asks if Mary Margaret knows where David might have been that night.
However, Mary Margaret admits that she wasn’t with David that night. As they pass the bus stop,
they see Dr. Whale hitting on Ruby. She sends him on his way and explains that she’s planning
on leaving town. When Ruby admits that she doesn’t have a plan, Mary Margaret offers to put
her up with them and Emma reluctantly agrees.
The townspeople gather at the inn and Mayor Tomkins addresses the people, admitting that
if he had stayed with the party then he would have been dead as well. Granny comes in and tells
them that they have no choice but to hide and cower. When Tomkins questions her, Granny says
that says that when she was a child, her father and brothers decided to take on another wolf to
protect them. She watched as the beast killed them all, grabbing their weapons and ripping out
their throats. It then attacked her, grabbing her arm and biting, and then turning and walking
away. Granny warns that if the current wolf is like that one, there is nothing they can do.
Afterward at her cottage, Red admits that she feels trapped. Snow realizes that Red is involved
with Peter and that it isn’t subtle.
Red explains that things between her and her friend Peter are changing and asks if Snow has
someone. When Snow admits that she doesn’t, Red said that she and Peter want to run away,
but Granny won’t let her out. Snow agrees that the wolf is dangerous but suggest that Granny is
keeping Red from love and using the wolf as an excuse. Red decides that they should kill the wolf,
suggesting that they hunt it during the day while it’s sleeping. Snow hesitates but Red insists
that she’s going whether her new friend accompanies her or not.
Mary Margaret parks at the city limits where Kathryn disappeared and goes into the woods.
She hears something moving in the woods David emerges from the brush. He says that he’s
looking for Kathryn as well, and Mary Margaret assures him that Emma knows that he didn’t
do anything. She promises to defend David and then realizes that he appears to be in shock. He
turns and walks away without a word as Mary Margaret calls after him.
Red and Snow go into the woods and finally find the wolf’s enormous paw prints in the snow.
They follow them toward the trail and Red assures Snow that she’s good at tracking things down
that she wants.
At the sheriff’s office, Henry helps Ruby look for a job but discovers that she’s not very good at
most things. When the non- emergency line keeps ringing, an irritated Ruby finally starts taking
the calls. Emma comes in and points out that Ruby is good on the phone, and offers to pay her
to work as a receptionist. Ruby leaps at the opportunity, insisting that she wants to be useful,
and Emma asks her to get lunch. Mary Margaret comes in and tells Emma that David is in the
woods and he’s acting as if he’s a different person.
The two women follow the tracks and realize that the paw prints are slowly changing into boot
prints. As they continue, Snow explains that she once heard a story of a creature that transforms
on the full moon. They discover that the trail leads back to Red’s cottage and up to the window.
Red admits that Peter was at the window the previous night and realizes that either he will kill
the hunting party or they will kill him. Snow tells Red to tell Peter the truth and save everyone,
but Red realizes that Granny will come out to find her. When she hesitates, Snow tells her that
she has to do something.
Ruby goes to the diner to get lunch, braces herself, and walks in to place an order with
Granny. She talks about her new job but Granny, unimpressed, says that she’s doing the same
thing as always and places the order. She finally reluctantly tells Ruby that she hopes she’s
found what she’s looking for and walks away.
Red tells Peter what they’ve discovered and he finally realizes that he’s the killer. She says
that they can leave together because all they have to do is tie him up during the full moon, and
