Once Upon A Time Episode Guide
she hasn’t changed. Emma calls Regina out and objects to her intervening, but Regina points
out that there have been no signs of a break-in. Speaking from experience, Regina says that she
knows someone can change when their heart is broken.
Snow ambushes one of the queen’s men, breaks his leg, and demands information on the
Queen’s location. When he hesitates, Snow shows him the pickaxe and explains that it can cut
diamonds. As she prepares to swing it at him, the knight tells Snow that Regina is at her castle
for the night, and leaves or the summer palace in the morning. Snow knocks him out and takes
his armor. Grumpy follows her and asks what she’s doing, and Snow says that she’ll do what
she has to. The dwarf warns her that she’s deluding herself and then says that he’s there to help
her by taking her back to Rumplestiltskin, who gave her the potion in the first place. He hopes
that the imp will give Snow her memories back, whether she wants them or not. When Grumpy
mentions that Rumplestiltskin can do anything, Snow gets an idea.
Emma is checking Mary Margaret’s apartment for signs of a break-in when Henry skips school
and comes there to help. She gives in, realizing that he won’t give up, and explains that someone
is setting up Mary Margaret. Henry tells Emma that Regina hates Snow White and is trying to
frame Mary Margaret, but she warns him that won’t hold up in court. They hear something
rattling in the heating vent and open it, and find what appears to be the murder weapon.
At the diner, Henry orders some hot chocolate and August comes over. Henry insists that Mary
Margaret didn’t kill anyone, and August suggests that he find his answers in the storybook. When
Henry says that it’s just a book, August says that they both know differently. The boy asks August
what he knows and the writer says that he knows that it’s a book of stories that really happened,
as real as he is. August says that he’s a believer and wants to help other people to belief, and
that he’s there for Emma. When Henry wonders why he doesn’t just tell Emma, August says that
some people need proof. After a moment, Henry opens the book and starts reading the story of
Prince James.
James finds the naked knight, who explains that the bloodthirsty Snow took his armor. When
James insists that Snow isn’t a killer, the knight says that James might not know her as well as
he thinks.
David comes to see Regina and insists that Mary Margaret is no killer. The mayor says that
he may not know Mary Margaret as well as he thinks and that everyone has a dark side. David
disagrees, saying she doesn’t know as much about evil as she thinks, and wonders if he may
have been responsible. Regina tells him that he’s wrong and that sometimes evil doesn’t look evil
and people don’t even realize that it’s present.
In her cell, Mary Margaret denies knowing anything about the hunting knife. Emma warns
her that the evidence is piling up and she should hire a lawyer. Gold comes in to offer his legal
services, explaining that he’s been following the details of the case. Emma objects but Gold says
that someone with influence is needed. Mary Margaret tells Emma to go so that she can talk to
her new lawyer privately, and tells the sheriff to do her job and prove her innocent. Once Emma
leaves, Gold says that he’s helping her without charge because he’s invested in her future.
When Snow and Grumpy come to his castle, Rumplestiltskin explains that Snow still has a
hole in her heart and there’s no way to bring back the person she was. He explains that no potion
can bring back true love, the only magic he can’t bottle. Rumplestiltskin then turns to Snow and
asks what she really wants, and she says that she wants his help to kill Queen Regina. He gives
her a bow and tells her that Snow has to kill her when she’s on the way to the summer palace.
Rumplestiltskin shows her the precise spot to plan an ambush. When Grumpy objects, Snow
says that it’s always been her plan to kill Regina. She asks what the price will be this time, but
Rumplestiltskin says that he’s helping her without charge because he’s invested in her future.
David comes to see. Archie and explains that he’s been having blackouts.
James enters Rumplestiltskin’s castle and demands to see the imp. Rumplestiltskin appears
and asks how his new life has been doing, and warns that King George is a vengeful man. James
draws his sword and demands to know where Snow is, and Rumplestiltskin explains that James
is the one who caused her pain. He says that true love will break the potion’s effect, and offers
to tell him Snow’s location in return for his cloak. Rumplestiltskin refuses to explain why and
James hands it over, and the imp gives him a map. He warns that if Snow kills Regina, she will
become as evil as the person she killed. As James runs off, Rumplestiltskin picks up the cloak
and smiles in triumphant.
