Once Upon A Time Episode Guide
James and Snow discuss Snow’s intervention and she says that all she saw was a woman who
didn’t want to appear weak before her former subjects. Snow points out that when she was a little
girl, Regina saved her life, and she believes that the woman Regina once was is still somewhere
deep inside. James still believes that killing Regina is the safest but Snow points out that if they
can’t take it back if they kill Regina. He agrees but warns Snow that if they spare Regina’s life
and she harms someone else, there is no coming back from that.
Snow goes back to the courtyard that night to consider what to do. Rumplestiltskin emerges
from the shadows and admits that he came there to watch Regina die. When he wonders how
Snow plans to redeem Regina, Snow admits that she doesn’t know. Rumplestiltskin offers to
provide a test so that Snow can determine if Regina is sincere. When Snow wonders why he
would make a deal since he wants Regina dead, Rumplestiltskin refuses to answer and simply
asks if they have a deal.
Emma, Mary Margaret, and David go to Archie’s office. They search his file and discover that
someone has taken Regina’s files. While Emma’s parents believe that confirms Regina is guilty,
Emma still believes that the case has been too easy to solve. She figures that it’s a frame and
that while everyone in town had a grudge against Regina, only one person would kill someone
else to get their revenge. They go to Gold’s pawnshop where he’s preparing a picnic with Belle.
Emma accuses Gold of killing Archie, but he insists that he’s innocent and tells them to talk
to the one witness: Pongo. He says that a spell will let them see the dog’s memories but that
they should let Emma cast the spell so that he can’t trick them. Emma is reluctant to do so but
Gold runs a dream catcher over Pongo’s back and then hands it to her, telling her to focus. She
concentrates and is able to bring the images into focus. They watch as Regina approaches Archie
and strangles him, and Emma is forced to admit that her parents were right. As she goes to the
jail, David and Mary Margaret warn her that Regina is too powerful to arrest without a plan.
Mary Margaret suggests that they use fairy dust again and Emma promises them that she has a
way to surprise Regina.
Snow goes to see Regina, ordering the cell guard to leave. Once they’re alone, Snow tells Regina
that she wasn’t always evil, but Regina points out that woman lost her love and is gone. Snow
opens the cell and says that all Regina need is a chance to let that woman return by starting
fresh. Regina walks out of the cell but then grabs Snow and slams her against the wall. Since her
magic is still neutralized, Regina takes Snow’s dagger and stabs her in the stomach... and nothing
happens. As James and the guards step out of the shadows, Snow explains that Rumplestiltskin
used one of Regina’s hairs cast a protection spell on Snow and David. Nothing Regina can do in
the land will hurt them ever again. Snow tells Regina that she’s sparing her life and that now
they’re even, and informs the former queen that she is banished from the Enchanted Forest. She
promises to kill Regina if she ever tries to hurt anyone else in the kingdom and then leaves with
James.
Emma, David, and Mary Margaret go to Regina’s home and Emma tells her what she saw.
Regina figures that Gold framed her and asks who cast the spell to retrieve Pongo’s memories.
She’s shocked when she learns that Emma was the one that cast the spell, and warns that
magic always comes with a price. Emma angrily says that Henry is the one who will pay the price
when he learns that Regina used magic and killed someone. Regina angrily walks after them,
demanding to see her son, and the Mother Superior steps out and throws a packet of fairy dust
at her. Regina easily stops it with a spell and then knocks everyone down with a spell. Emma
tells her that Henry will never believe that Regina says to him ever again. Realizing that she’s
lost, Regina teleports away.
Later, Emma and her parents go to pick up Henry at the bus stop. Emma worries that she
doesn’t know how to be a parent, but David and Mary Margaret assure her that she’ll do fine.
Henry gets off the school bus and Emma takes him to a bus and tells him what happened. As
Henry breaks into tears and Emma embraces her son, Regina secretly watches from down the
street and breaks into tears.
On the day of Snow and James’ wedding, Rumplestiltskin comes to see Regina at her castle.
He says that he’s there to raise her spirits, but Regina points out that she can’t stop the wedding
because of Rumplestiltskin’s protection spell. He admits that he cast it but reminds her that
he made it specifically to only work in the Enchanted Forest. When Rumplestiltskin says that
Regina can harm them somewhere else, Regina tells her father to bring a carriage because she’s
going to the wedding.
