Gold set it up so that it would all lead to her. She wonders what he’s up to, noting that he was the
one who created the curse. Regina asks why he did it and Gold tells her to figure it out herself.
Baelfire is playing kickball in the village when he runs out into the road. A donkey driver
scrapes him with his cart, realizes that he’s Rumplestiltskin’s son, and tries to apologize, but
Rumplestiltskin comes over. The driver insists that Baelfire is fine and apologizes, but Rumplestiltskin
notices a scratch and transforms the driver into a snail and then crushes it underfoot.
The townspeople quickly walk away in terror.
David comes to the hospital to see Kathryn and finds her sleeping. When he tries to kiss her
on the forehead, he startles her awake.
David apologizes for lying to her and cheating on her, and Kathryn assures her that it’s okay
because what they had wasn’t enough for either of them. She wishes him well and he leaves.
Granny throws a party at the apartment to welcome congratulate Mary Margaret on being
cleared. Meanwhile, Henry asks August what happens and he says that whatever he’s looking
for will find him. Henry gives Mary Margaret a card from and the bell he bought for her at the
pawnshop. As Henry leaves, David comes in and Emma suggests that he give Mary Margaret
some time. He reluctantly agrees and leaves, and Gold comments to Emma that it must be hard
to let her son go. She accuses him of holding Kathryn, but Gold points out that she can’t decide
if he’s working for or against Regina. Gold then asks about August, but Emma says that he’s a
writer and doesn’t see a cause for the pawnbroker’s concern because she trusts the writer.
Rumplestiltskin goes home with Baelfire and dismisses their mute maid, Onora. Baelfire
points out that he killed the man and Rumplestiltskin insists that he deserved it. He starts
to heal Baelfire’s scrape but the boy refuses his help and asks him to bandage it. Baelfire then
warns that his father hurts people all the time, but Rumplestiltskin insists that he used his
power to stop the war and lead the children home. His son says that he’s succeeded now and he
can stop using magic, but Rumplestiltskin says that he needs power to protect Baelfire. When
Baelfire asks if he’s tried to get rid of his magic, Rumplestiltskin reminds him that the only way
he knows of is if someone kills him with the dagger with his true name on it. Onora comes back
in and Rumplestiltskin hastily hides the knife and tells his son to look for some other way, but
warns him not to get his hopes up. Baelfire asks if he would give up his power if he wants and
Rumplestiltskin says that he can give him whatever he wants. When Baelfire says that he just
wants his father back, Rumplestiltskin says that if he can find a way then he’ll do it. Baelfire
offers his hand and they strike a deal.
Gold breaks into August’s apartment and goes through his papers, and finds a sketch of the
dagger.
Emma comes by to see Sydney at the diner. She shows him the bug that she found in the
flower vase and accuses him of spying on her for Regina. Sydney insists that Regina is a good
mayor and an amazing woman, and Emma wonders if he’s in love with the mayor. She warns him
that she’ll soon have the DNA evidence that will tie Kathryn to Regina and he needs to consider
whether Regina is worth protecting.
August gets on his motorcycle and rides away, and Gold drives after him.
The village boys are playing in the woods and Rumplestiltskin drops Baelfire off while he
tends to some nearby business. The boys quickly run away in fear, but the neighbor girl Morraine
comes by. She says that she doesn’t think Rumplestiltskin is so bad, but Baelfire warns that he’s
getting worse. He wonders how to relieve his father of his power, and Morraine says that during
the wars she heard of Reul Ghorm, a mystical being of vast powers. When Rumplestiltskin comes
back, Morraine quickly leaves and Baelfire points out that there are stains on his boots. Baelfire
realizes that he killed Onora even though she’s mute, and Rumplestiltskin insist that even mutes
can draw a picture.
Gold watches as August goes to the nunnery and talks with the Mother Superior. Once August
leaves, Gold approaches the Mother Superior and asks what August wanted. He threatens to
double her rent unless she explains, and the Mother Superior says that August was looking for
his father after a long separation and finally found him. However, August said that he hasn’t
talked to his father yet because it was a difficult parting between them and they have issues to
resolve.
Baelfire goes into the woods at night and calls to Reul Ghorm, asking for his help. The Blue
