Once Upon A Time Episode Guide
flies down and covers Regina with fairy dust, trapping her. James emerges from hiding and tells
Regina that they knew that she couldn’t resist and so they set a trap for her. Now that they have
her, the kingdom is theirs.
That night, everyone arrives at the diner for the welcome back party. As David offers a toast
to his wife’s and daughter’s safe return, Regina comes in and apologizes for running late. The
townspeople are ready to kill her, but Emma says that she invited Henry’s mother there. David
and Mary Margaret talk to their daughter privately, noting that Regina just tried to kill them.
Emma believes that Regina should have a second chance and that she’s trying to change for
Henry. They agree to let her stay and Regina starts serving her lasagna. Despite that, everyone
leaves Regina alone and she quickly leaves. Emma goes after her and offers some cake, and
Regina refuse and suggests that Henry might stay with her. When Emma hesitates, Regina snaps
at her, pointing out that Emma was out of Henry’s life for ten years. However, she quickly apologizes
for losing her temper. Emma admits that she invited Regina because Archie told her that
Regina was trying to change. Regina says that it was right but leaves anyway... unaware that
Cora and Hook are watching her from a nearby rooftop. Hook asks if Regina is broken yet, and
Cora says that her daughter hasn’t...
yet.
The next morning, Archie is out on the docks walking his dog, Pongo, when Regina confronts
him. She’s furious that he violated her confidence by talking to Emma, but Archie insists that
he didn’t tell Emma anything confidential and was just trying to help. An angry Regina tells him
that he’s lucky that she has changed.
The council of the Enchanted Forest gathers and Jiminy Cricket warns them that Regina will
never change. However, he doesn’t want to banish Regina for fear that she would torment some
other land’s inhabitants. James warns them that killing Regina is the only way to stop her for
good and dismisses the council. Once he’s alone with Snow, she points out that he once stopped
her from killing Regina.
James points out that he did it to stop her from becoming a killer, not out of any love for
Regina, and that they have no choice but to kill their enemy.
Ruby is outside the diner that night and sees Regina go into Archie’s office across the street.
Upstairs, Regina asks to talk with the psychiatrist, who lets her in. He’s surprised that Pongo
is growling at her since she’s been there before. Regina then grabs Archie by the throat and
strangles him to death. She then leaves transforming into Regina as she goes.
The next day, Henry and Emma are having breakfast at the diner. As they talk about Emma’s
adventures in the enchanted Forest, she insists on walking him to the bus even though she never
has before. As they go to the bus, Pongo runs up, barking. Ruby hears him and because of her
wolf nature, is unable to understand that something is wrong. Once Emma gets Henry on the
bus, she and Ruby go to Archie’s office and discover that the psychiatrist is dead.
As the people of the kingdom gather in the courtyard for Regina’s execution, she watches from
her tower cell. Her father Henry comes to see her and admits that as a father he failed to protect
her. Regina assures him that he’s not to blame, and Henry tells her that she can still live if she
shows regret for all of the pain that she’s caused and give Snow and James a reason to let her
live.
David and Emma arrest Regina and take her to the jail. They inform her that Archie is dead
and Regina is apparently shocked. She insists that she was home all evening and that even if
she had killed Archive, she wouldn’t have been sloppy enough to let anyone see her. Regina also
insists that she wouldn’t do anything to endanger Henry’s feelings for her. David doesn’t believe
that Regina could ever change, but Emma isn’t so sure.
Regina is taken to the courtyard while a hooded Rumplestiltskin watches from the crowd.
Jiminy asks if Regina has any final words of regret. She steps forward and says that she does
regret... not causing even more death and destruction. James orders the executioners to fire, but
as they fire, Snow yells at them to stop. The Blue Fairy halts the arrows in midair and Snow tells
her husband that killing isn’t the way. She walks while the guards take Regina back to her cell.
Emma meets privately with Mary Margaret and David and insists that Regina isn’t guilty.
She figures that Emma would destroy the building if she were guilty, rather than waste time
protesting her innocence. Emma insists that Regina should be considered innocent until proven
guilty and proposes to release her and then find out the truth.
