Summary: While Emma and Regina work together to try and find a way to save
Henry before it’s too late, eleven years in the past, Regina turns to
Gold for help when she decides she wants to adopt a child to fill the
emptiness in her life.
In the Enchanted Forest, Regina’s
curse sweeps across the land and she
goes to see Rumplestiltskin in his cell and
boast of her triumphant. He knows what
she’s done and asks how it felt to rip
out her father Henry’s heart to create the
curse. Regina insists that what she felt
doesn’t matter because she’s taken her
life back and she’s won. Rumplestiltskin
points out that she still felt the need to
gloat to him about her triumphant, and
figures that she’s missing something. He
reminds her of the prophecy of the Savior,
who will break the curse in the future,
and Regina figures that she can deal with
it when the time comes. Rumpelstiltskin tells her that there’s still a hole in her heart, and that
eventually she will come to him to help fill it. Regina suspects that he wants to make a deal to
escape the curse, but Rumplestiltskin tells her that he’s exactly where he wants to be.
In Neverland, Emma, Regina, and Neal go to Henry’s body and Pan explains that Henry gave
his heart of his own free will. Emma attacks Pan with her sword but he teleports away and takes
Pandora’s Box, explaining that Gold is trapped inside. When Pan boasts that no one can hurt
him now, Emma slashes at him, nicking his arm. He dismisses it as a tickle and flies away, while
Regina promises the dying Henry that they’re going to take him home.
Eleven years ago, Regina calls Archie to the mayor’s office. He soon realizes that something is
wrong and asks how she’s feeling, and Regina says that she isn’t feeling anything. The therapist
suggests that she’s feeling an emptiness in her life but Regina insists that she loves what she has.
Archie points out that it’s meaningless without anyone to share it with, and Regina admits that
the one time she didn’t feel loneliness was when the boy from outside, Greg, visited Storybrooke.
