Once Upon A Time Episode Guide
dinner. Belle warns him that she’s not the girl that he knows, and points out that everyone in
town talks about how afraid they are of him. Gold asks for a chance to prove her differently and
Belle agrees to meet him for dinner at Granny’s. Once she leaves, David congratulates Gold on
his success, and the pawnbroker wonders how he can make Belle fall in love with him a second
time.
Emma is reading Henry’s storybook at the docks when Regina comes over and asks what Neal
is doing in Storybrooke. Irritated that Regina is questioning her, Emma suggests that she focus
on being the kind of person that Henry wants as a mother. When she suggests that Henry may
soon be gone, Regina realizes that Emma is hiding something and vows to find out what.
That night at the diner, Belle orders chicken instead of hamburger, surprising Gold. She talks
about how nice he is when everything she’s heard is about how ruthless he is. Gold insists that
he’s a simple shop owner that provides people with what they want, and Belle admits that she can
sense that he wouldn’t hurt anyone. She echoes her words about knowing what’s in a person’s
heart and Gold jumps, startled. He spills his tea on her dress and she goes to the bathroom to
clean up.
As Rumplestiltskin and Belle travel through the forest on the thief’s trail, Belle suggests that
Rumplestiltskin isn’t as dark as he claims. When she points out that he didn’t kill her for releasing
the thief, Rumplestiltskin says that the only thing in his heart is love for himself and
his belongings. They come across the local sheriff, who says that he knows who Rumpelstiltskin
is. He offers a deal: the thief’s location in return for 20 minutes alone with Belle. Instead,
Rumplestiltskin removes the man’s tongue with a spell and offers to return it if the sheriff tells
him what he wants to know. The sheriff nods in agreement and, once his tongue is restored,
tells Rumplestiltskin that the thief, Robin Hood, has been at large in Sherwood Forest for years.
Robin Hood stole the sheriff’s love, making him the laughing stock of Nottingham.
Gold finally realizes that Belle isn’t coming back. He checks the restroom and discovers that
she’s slipped out the back.
Rumplestiltskin insists that Belle go with him and watch as he kills the thief. They spot Robin
Hood approaching a wagon with a sick woman in the back. The thief uses the stolen wand and
Belle realizes that he stole it so that he could cure his true love.
Rumplestiltskin buries Belle to her waist in the ground and prepares to shoot Robin Hood.
She insists that she was right about the thief’s intentions, and she’s right about what is in
Rumplestiltskin’s heart. As the woman, Marian, is cured, she gets out of the wagon and they
realize that she’s pregnant. Belle insists that Rumplestiltskin wouldn’t leave a child without his
father, but he fires the bow... and misses. Robin and Marian quickly run off and Rumpelstiltskin
frees Belle. He says that he’s bored of chasing the thief and says that they’ll go back, but Belle
hugs him, thanking him for his decision.
Gold finds Belle in the alley, kissing Keith, who was the Sheriff of Nottingham. Keith runs off
when he sees Gold, and Gold realizes that she wanted to be with Keith all along. Belle tells him
that their date wasn’t going well and that she only accepted his offer because she wanted to be
nice. However, she says that being nice isn’t her and she’s not the woman he wants, and walks
away.
Regina watches as David and Mary Margaret drive Anton and the dwarves back to town. Once
they leave, Regina casts a spell to trace the truck back to the bean fields. She easily pierces the
invisibility spell and realizes what the dwarves are growing.
As Gold goes to his car, Keith finds him and tries to apologize. When he says that he didn’t
know Gold and Belle are together, Gold says that they aren’t so Keith figures that they’re good.
Disgusted, Gold says that he’s tried hard to be on his best behavior but now there’s no point. He
casts the spell to remove Keith’s tongue and then starts beating him with his cane.
Back at the castle, Rumplestiltskin takes Belle to a library in an upper tower. He tells her that
he’s only showing it to her so that she can clean it, but she isn’t fooled. Belle takes his hand and
admits that she’s glad that he’s not who she thought he was.
Belle walks around the corner and sees Gold beating Keith. He boasts that everything the
townspeople said about him is true and then some. Belle smiles in satisfaction and says that
she’s glad that he is, and nods encouragingly as Gold continues beating Keith.
When Neal brings a sleeping Henry back to the apartment, Emma puts him to bed and asks
Neal if he’s ever considered going back to the Enchanted Forest. He admits that his life hasn’t
been a fairy tale and that he’s spent most of his time trying to forget the place. They talk about
