Once Upon A Time Episode Guide
Gold to forgive her, Gold says that he can’t and pulls her heart out of her chest, and then crushes
it. He then steps over her corpse and walks off.
On the Jolly Roger, the group argues whether to get rid of the mermaid, or throw it overboard,
or try to negotiate with it. The mermaid manages to grab her conch horn and blows it, and tells
them that they will die if they don’t let her go.
Mulan and Neal travel to Rumplestiltskin’s castle, and she comments that Emma never mentioned
Neal during her visit to the Enchanted Forest. Neal explains that he let Emma go so that
she could fulfill her destiny, breaking her heart in the process. He never sought her out to ask
forgiveness because he was afraid that she wouldn’t, and Mulan points out that his belief in love
wasn’t enough to overcome his fear of rejection.
As Henry and his rescuer travel to the Echo Caves, the Lost Boys find them and cut off their
escape route.
Mary Margaret and Regina argue about whether to negotiate with the mermaid or torture her.
The mermaid tells them that they will kill each other and a storm whips up. David grabs a sword
and threatens to kill her if she doesn’t stop it, and Regina goads him on.
After a moment, David realizes what he’s doing and releases the mermaid, saying that they’re
not barbarians. Hook tries to outrun the storm while Regina threatens to kill the mermaid if she
doesn’t stop the storm. Mary Margaret warns that killing the mermaid will only bring down the
wrath of the other mermaids, but Regina ignores her and transforms the mermaid into a wooden
statue. The storm picks up strength and everyone holds on as a gigantic wave sweeps down on
the Jolly Roger.
When Neal and Mulan reach Rumplestiltskin’s castle, they discover that it is seemingly abandoned.
However, Neal realizes that someone is still living there. An archer comes in and aims an
arrow at them, demanding to know who they are. Neal introduces himself and the archer says
that he is Robin Hood and has claimed the castle. Robin wonders what claim they have on the
castle and Neal explains that he is the son of the previous owner. The archer doesn’t dispute his
claim and admits that he owes Rumplestiltskin a debt, and Neal is glad to accept it on behalf
of his father. Neal looks around, saying that whatever his father intended him to have would be
hidden from casual eyes. He finds his father’s cane on the floor and picks it up, pointing out the
marks where Rumplestiltskin marked his height as he was growing it up. Neal then twirls the
cane and a door magically appears in the wall. When Robin Hood points out that he’s picked up
the cane on several occasions, Neal tells him that his father used blood magic to enchant it so
that it would only respond to him, and accepts that family was important to him.
As the Jolly Roger plunges out of control, Mary Margaret and Regina argue about whose fault
it is. Hook tells them to stop fighting and insults Mary Margaret, and David takes offense and
attacks her. Emma realizes that the storm is both driving them mad with anger and feeding on
their emotions to become more powerful. She’s unable to get them to listen to her so she dives
overboard to get her parents’ attention and snap them out of the spell. However, a pulley breaks
loose and hits her in the head, knocking her unconscious.
Henry and his friend are trapped at the edge of a cliff with nowhere to run. Henry’s rescuer is
ready to give up and return the pixie dust, but Henry takes it and then backs up to get a running
start. The boy warns that the dust won’t work, but Henry says that he believes and that they
have to believe to get it to work. They run forward off the edge of the cliff... and start flying.
The others overcome their anger and the spell’s effects when they see Emma in danger. Regina
is unable to cast a spell to rescue Emma when she can’t see her under the waters, so Hook ties a
line to David. David dives into the ocean and finds Emma, and the others pull them back aboard.
Gold finally sits down and tells Felix to come out. The Lost Boy steps out and greets Rumplestiltskin
as an old friend. Felix tells the Dark One that Pan greets him to the island, and
invites him to stay on the island as long as he wants. However, Pan refuses to give up Henry.
Gold tells Felix that nothing has changed between them and admits that, although Pan can kill
him, he can take Pan and the others with him. Unimpressed, Felix says that they’ll meet again.
As Gold walks off, Felix tosses him a crude doll and says that Pan wanted him to have it. At the
sight of the doll, Gold breaks into tears.
Inside the door, Neal finds a cabinet holding many of Rumplestiltskin’s mystic relics, including
a snow globe. He grabs the snow globe and tries to see where Emma is, but nothing happens.
Mulan tells him to focus on Emma and his feelings on her, rather than a place, and the snow
globe shows Emma in a jungle. Neal realizes that Emma is in Neverland, not Storybrooke.
