Once Upon A Time Episode Guide
Snow refuses to let the rest of them endanger their lives because of her feud with Regina. She
thanks them for their support but insists that it’s something she has to do alone.
Regina takes Jefferson to the crypt where she keeps the last bit of magic: the things she
brought with her. Jefferson tries to activate the hat but nothing happens, and Regina says that
it has to absorb the magic that’s there. She places a few trinkets into it but Jefferson says they
need something that still works. Regina takes out her engagement ring and reluctantly places
it into the hat. It begins to spin but doesn’t open a portal and Jefferson says that there’s not
enough magic. All he can do is touch the other side and bring something back, and asks Regina
if there’s something she needs that can help her. Smiling, Regina says that there is one thing
she can hold in her hand, and he tells her to concentrate on the place and time. She does so and
tells Jefferson that she needs... an apple.
Snow meets Regina at her family’s stables and the Queen leads her into the woods to the spot
where she ran down Snow’s runaway horse. Daniel’s grave is there and Regina says that he died
because of Snow. Snow apologizes and Regina says that nothing can change the fact that she
broke her promise. She then takes out an apple and says that it won’t kill Snow, but it will trap
her within her own body, suffering from dreams formed from her own regrets. However, she tells
Snow that it must be taken willingly. When Snow wonders why she would do that, Regina says
that she will kill James if she doesn’t. Snow takes the apple and congratulates her on winning,
and then eats it. She collapses while in a dungeon, James senses what has happened. The apple
tumbles away...
... and falls out of the hat portal. Jefferson gives it to Regina, who says that the deal isn’t done
until she gets Emma to taste the apple. She cuts it up and makes a turnover from it.
Emma comes to see Regina at her home and asks to talk. The mayor invites her in and Emma
says that she’s leaving town to spare Henry. However, she still wants to visit and spend time
with her son. As the oven timer goes off, Regina invites Emma into the kitchen and gets out the
turnover. Emma assures her that Henry will be Regina’s son and prepares to leave. Seemingly
satisfied, Regina puts the turnover in a Tupperware container and gives it to Emma as a peace
offering. After a moment, Emma takes it and leaves.
Snow’s friends go to the stables and find her body. They don’t find any sign of breath and
believe she sacrificed herself for true love. At her castle, Regina watches them and laughs in
satisfaction as she keep James alive but imprisoned.
Regina goes to the pawnshop and tells Gold that no one is going anywhere. She tells him what
she’s done, and he reminds her that all magic can come with a price. Regina says that he can
pay it because the curse will be stronger than ever and Gold won’t be going anywhere.
Emma goes back to her apartment and invites Henry there. She tells him that he can’t go
with her and she can’t stay. Emma tells him that he has to set aside his believe in fairy tales,
and reminds him that Regina has always fought to keep him. He hugs her and then notices the
turnover on the table. When Emma explains that Regina gave it to her, he says that the deal
was a trick to get Emma to eat the poisoned apple. Emma tries to eat the turnover to prove he’s
wrong, but he grabs it and eats it himself, saying that he believes in her. After a moment, he
collapses.
