Once Upon A Time Episode Guide
Emma already knows but figured Mary Margaret would tell her when it’s right. Mary Margaret
says that it’s time and plans to tell her everything.
Kathryn is at home looking for new apartments in Boston when David comes home and tells
her that he can’t go to Boston with her. He apologizes and Kathryn demands the truth, wondering
if there’s something going on that she doesn’t know about. David says that there isn’t but insists
that there’s something that is preventing him from connecting.
Abigail and James ride through the woods to King Midas’ realm. Once they’re safe, he demands
to know what is going on and Abigail tells him that she is in love with Frederick, a man
that she was engaged to. James doesn’t know how he can help her and explains that Snow
doesn’t feel for him as he feels for her. Undeterred, Abigail takes his hand and leads him to the
woods where a golden knight is standing within a gazebo. She explains that Frederick sacrificed
his life there. They were traveling with Midas and Frederick was cut down by bandits when they
attacked. Abigail tells David that Frederick knocked Midas aside and was turned to gold when
the king accidentally touched him. David asks her if she’s tried true love’s kiss, but she says
that it hasn’t worked because the gold blocks her. Abigail says that there is a legend of Lake
Nostos, which has waters that can restore something that is once lost. It is guarded by a siren
that drowns its victims, and David says that he will face it and return with the water. Abigail
warns him against it but David insists, believing that one of them should have true happiness.
August is in his apartment cleaning and then reassembling Henry’s storybook, carefully recreating
all of the necessary steps and adding new pages.
At home, Regina gives Henry a present of a game unit to replace his missing storybook. Henry
is clearly disappointed and Regina asks him not to be upset with her. Henry admits that he
misses Emma and wants to see her. Kathryn comes to see Regina and the mayor sends Henry
out, and then Kathryn explains that David is leaving her. Regina says that Mary Margaret is
responsible and Kathryn demands an explanation. The mayor tells her friend that David and
Mary Margaret have been having an affair, and that she has photos that Sydney gave to her. She
reluctantly shows them to Kathryn, confirming the affair, and says that she didn’t tell Kathryn
because she was hoping she would work things out with David, and because she’s Kathryn’s
friend. Kathryn doesn’t believe a friend would do it to her and leaves.
Abigail leads James to a shrine dedicated to the guardian of the lake, where each man has
left an offering to appease the guardian.
James leaves his own token but refuses to take Abigail with him.
David calls Mary Margaret at school and admits that he told Kathryn about them but it was
bad. Mary Margaret figures that they can start over again, and David asks to see her after school.
Before she hangs up, Mary Margaret assures him that he did the right thing. As she hangs up,
Kathryn walks up and slaps her, and accuses them of lying to her. Mary Margaret insists that
she was honest but Kathryn tells her what David said and Mary Margaret realizes that David
lied to her as well. Kathryn tells Mary Margaret that she and David deserve each other and walk
away.
James goes to the lake and puts some of the water into a skin. The waters ripple and James
realizes that someone is there. He calls upon the siren to show herself, and she emerges from
the waters.
August arrives to meet Emma at the diner, but tells him that he doesn’t want to have their
date there. He invites Emma to get on his motorcycle and they’ll go to a place he knows. Emma
reluctantly agrees and they go out to an old tree in the woods next to a wishing well. August
claims that legend has it that the well is fed from water by a lake, and that the waters will return
something lost to the person drinking. When Emma wonders how he knows all that, August
points out the plaque on the well and says that he has an open mind when it comes to magic.
He offers Emma a drink of the water and drinks one herself.
Mary Margaret is walking through the street and hears people talking about her affair and
glancing sideways at her. She bumps into Granny, who tells Mary Margaret that she should be
ashamed of herself.
The siren tells James that she can be anyone that she wants him to be, but he realizes that
she intends to lure him to her death.
The siren assures her that there are other things they could do, but he refuses to fall for
her lies. The creature gestures and transforms herself into the image of Snow and tells him that
illusions are better than the truth and she can give him everything he wants. In return, all he
