Once Upon A Time Episode Guide
Snow is preparing to ambush Regina when James grabs her. She doesn’t remember him and
he kisses her, but she punches him and knocks him out.
When Emma comes home, Henry shows her Regina’s ring of keys and explains that the storybook
says that they will open any lock. He tries them one at a time but nothing works, and he
gives the skeptical Emma the keys to make one last try. It works and Emma realizes that Regina
could have broken in, taken the jewelry box, and planted the knife.
James wakes up and discovers that Snow has died him up. She doesn’t remember him and
James insists that they love each other.
However, Snow insists that action is what is important, not words, and goes to kill Regina,
ignoring James’ objections.
Archie hypnotizes David and has him go back in his memories to when he and Kathryn last
talked. David remembers calling her on her cell phone and her telling him and David to be happy.
After that, he has a memory of Snow in the woods, and himself as James telling her that she
can’t kill Regina. David comes out of his trance, tells Archie that he can’t help him, and leaves
the office.
Jiminy finds James and explains that the dwarves asked him to intervene. He starts biting
through the ropes and asks James what his plan is, and suggests that he make Snow remember
who she is.
The Queen’s escort clears the road ahead of her, unaware that Snow is on the hill above.
Snow aims and fires... and James leaps in front of the arrow, taking it in the shoulder. The
Queen unwittingly rides on, while James reminds Snow that she appreciates actions and had to
demonstrate. He tells Snow that he loves her and the only thing he cares about is her being who
she truly is. James says that he would die rather than let her become evil, and Snow is touched
that he would die for her. Crying, she steps forward and kisses him, breaking the magic of the
potion and restoring her memories. The surviving members of King George’s army approaches
and takes James away, leaving Snow behind now that they have who they want. As he’s taken
away, Snow calls out that he will always find him.
David comes to the jail to see Mary Margaret. He tells her that Archie helped her remember
what happened during his last blackout, and that he saw her in the woods while he told her
not to kill ”her.” Mary Margaret assumes that he’s remembering her killing Kathryn and David
asks why he would have that memory. He points out all the evidence against him and asks if she
killed Kathryn.
Mary Margaret reminds him that he stood by him when everyone thought that he killed
Kathryn, and is hurt that he thinks she’s capable of that kind of evil. She tells David to get
out and turns her back on him. Crying, David leaves without a word.
Snow returns to the dwarves’ cottage and apologizes for her previous actions, replacing the
mug that she broke. They accept her apology, realizing that it’s really her, and Snow tells them
that she has to get James back from King George. Grumpy tells her that she can’t do it alone
and all seven dwarves vow to help her As Mary Margaret makes up the bunk in her cell, she
finds an antique metal key. She tries it in the cell lock and discovers that it works, opening the
door. As Emma comes in, Mary Margaret closes the cell door before she can see. Emma then tells
her that the DNA on the heart matches Kathryn’s. She admits that she has to move forward,
but believes that Regina is framing Mary Margaret. However, she doesn’t have proof and has to
proceed carefully. Mary Margaret wonders how Emma will expose Regina, and all the sheriff will
say is that she’s working on it. She asks Mary Margaret to have faith in her and Mary Margaret
says that she does. However, once Emma leaves, Mary Margaret considers the key.
Emma goes to see Gold at his pawnshop and accuses Regina of setting Mary Margaret up. She
admits she doesn’t have any proof and asks Gold for help, pointing out that the only time she
beat Regina was when Gold helped her. Emma admits that she doesn’t approve of his methods
but she needs results, and tells Gold that she’ll do whatever it takes. Gold tells Emma that she’s
more powerful than she knows.
Rumplestiltskin removes a hair from James’ cloak and places it in a bottle that already contains
Snow’s hair that he took earlier.
The two hairs twine and merge, and Rumplestiltskin puts it on the shelf in the empty spot
reserved for a bottle of true love.
Mary Margaret escapes from her cell.
