Emma. Gold invites her to tell him everything and suggests that Regina might have to lose Henry
to keep the curse unbroken. When Regina says she’s rather get rid of Emma, Gold reminds her
that killing Emma will break the curse because he designed it that way. She tells him to undo
it and Gold says that he can’t because of the lack of magic. Regina accuses him of wanting the
curse broken and offers a new deal. She asks to kill Emma without breaking the curse, but Gold
says that he isn’t interested and is already planning a trip. When Regina offers him anything,
Gold says that she has nothing he wants and warns her that when the people realize what Regina
did to them, they’ll want blood.
At the school, Regina puts a card with a white rabbit onto the bicycle belonging to Jefferson’s
daughter Paige.
Emma returns home and Mary Margaret complains that she didn’t say goodbye. She reminds
Emma of how she said they have to stick together because they were family, and demands an
answer. Emma says that she doesn’t want people relying on her and that she tried to take Henry
with her. Mary Margaret points out that Emma can’t give Henry a stable home and that running
isn’t best for him. She warns that Emma is reverting to the person she used to and that she
needs to figure out the best thing for Henry.
Snow, Granny, and the dwarves approach the castle. Red arrives and tells them that Regina
is there and they figure that it’s a trap.
However, Snow says that there’s no turning back. As the others leave, Snow tells Red that she
destroyed Regina’s happiness and now the queen plans to destroy hers.
Regina goes to see James in the dungeons and tells him that she doesn’t want his life. She
boasts that she has a more satisfying punishment for Snow and leaves, holding an apple.
Jefferson comes to see Regina after seeing the card on his daughter’s bicycle, recognizing it
as a signal to him. She asks for his help and reminds him that if he kills her then he won’t get
back to his daughter. However, Regina assures him that there’s a way for both of them to get
what they want. She then brings out Jefferson’s hat and tells him to use it again. Jefferson says
that he can’t use it without magic, but Regina says that she has enough magic remaining for one
last journey back to their land. Once there, Regina can get the solution she needs to dispose of
Emma without breaking the curse. When Jefferson wonders why he shouldn’t let Emma succeed,
Regina reminds him of the life of poverty that he had there. She tells him that she wants her child
back as much as he does and they need to work together, and then she’ll wake up Grace and let
her remember that she is his daughter Paige. Jefferson refuses and says that he wants Regina
to make him forget and write a new story for him with his daughter. Regina agrees... after they
take care of Emma.
Grumpy calls in the Blue Fairy and her friends to launch an airborne attack while Snow and
the others scale the walls. Snow goes first and disposes of the guards while the others climb
up and join her. They continue their assault only to find themselves surrounded. However, the
fairies arrive and launch a magic dust attack, putting the soldiers to sleep.
Henry goes to see August and tells him that Emma was going to leave. August admits that he
failed to make Emma believe, and reveals that his arms have also reverted to wood. Henry realizes
that the curse is real and August is Pinocchio, and August explains that he’s turning back
because he hasn’t been a good boy. If the curse doesn’t break then he will continue transforming,
and August warns Henry that Emma won’t see it because she doesn’t believe. Now he plans to
spend his remaining time with his real father, Marco.
Henry wonders if everyone is giving up and August says that it’s up to him.
Emma meets Archie at the diner and he warns her that she has no case for custody, and
asks if Henry is getting hurt in the struggle between her and Regina. The psychiatrist admits
that Henry has retreated into his fantasy life and having trouble at school, and Emma wonders
if Regina would hurt her son. Archie assures her that Regina might hurt anyone else but not
Henry. Emma asks if Henry has been better since she came into his life, and Archie tells her that
she has to end her struggle with Regina.
Snow gets to the dungeons and frees James. However, when she enters his cell she discovers
that he’s only appearing through a mirror and he’s actually at Regina’s castle. James tells her to
have faith that they’ll be together and then Regina appears. She suggests that they stop fighting
and agree to a private talk, unarmed. Snow agrees and Regina tells her to go to where it all began.
She returns to the others and tells them that she’s going to the parley despite their warnings.
