Yellow rust was comparatively less prevalent during 2001/02, as mentioned earlier, but was enough for reliable scoring, and all the entries tested during that year demonstrated resistance, while only 26% of the entries were found to exhibit resistance during 2002/03. Slow-rusting behaviour in the desirable genotypes and further testing of this material should lead to development of resistant cultivars that could be deployed to avoid boom-and-bust cycles. Table 3.
