<strong>Undergraduate</strong> Courses<br />
INPE 3005. FUNDAMENTALS OF ANIMAL<br />
SCIENCE. Four credit hours. Three hours of<br />
lecture and one three-hour laboratory per week.<br />
An introductory course in the raising of the most<br />
important farm livestock in Puerto Rico.<br />
INPE 3017. RABBIT PRODUCTION. Three<br />
credit hours. Two hours of lecture and one threehour<br />
laboratory per week. Prerequisite: INPE 3005.<br />
Theoretical basis and management practices<br />
involved in commercial rabbit production,<br />
including breeds; reproductive, feeding and sanitary<br />
management; genetic improvement; and processing<br />
and marketing of the final product.<br />
INPE 4005. VETERINARY PHYSIOLOGY.<br />
Three credit hours. Two hours of lecture and one<br />
three-hour laboratory per week. Prerequisites:<br />
INPE 3005 and (BIOL 4015, or BIOL 3021, or<br />
BIOL 3052).<br />
The physiology of farm animals, comprising the<br />
digestive, nervous, vascular, excretory, respiratory,<br />
and endocrine system.<br />
INPE 4006. REPRODUCTION OF FARM<br />
ANIMALS. Three credit hours. Two hours of<br />
lecture and one three-hour laboratory per week.<br />
Prerequisite: INPE 3005 and INPE 4005.<br />
The anatomy, physiology and pathology of the<br />
reproductive system of farm animals, including<br />
artificial insemination.<br />
