Theory and practice of phenomenology as a system<br />
and as a philosophical method, especially through<br />
the writings of Edmond Husserl.<br />
FILO 4158. ANALYTIC PHILOSOPHY. Three<br />

Analytic and linguistic philosophy of the Twentieth<br />
Century, including logical atomism, neopositivism,<br />
and linguistic analysis.<br />

FILO 3165 and FILO 3166.<br />
Pragmatism as a method, a theory of knowledge,<br />
and a theory of values.<br />

Critical study of the nature and meaning of<br />
technology. Conceptual distinctions between<br />
science, technology, technique, engineering, and<br />
art, and the metaphysical, epistemological, and<br />
ethical presuppositions that inspire the diverse<br />
cultural interpretations of technology will be<br />
considered.<br />

A general course in the history, theory and<br />
techniques of the drama.<br />
TEAT 3061-3062. SCENE DESIGN I-II. Three<br />

A specific course in the fundamentals of scene<br />
design. Theory and practice in the technical<br />
aspects of construction, painting, and lighting<br />
design.<br />
TEAT 3071-3072. STAGE CRAFT. Two credit<br />
hours per semester. One hour of lecture and two<br />
hours workshop per week each semester.<br />
Theory and practice in the technical aspects of<br />
construction, rigging, mechanical scene changing;<br />
historical background of stage craft, and the use of<br />
new materials in the theater.<br />
TEAT 3081-3082. ACTING I-II. Three credit<br />
hours per semester. One hour of lecture and four<br />
hours workshop per week each semester.<br />
A study of acting through a historical background<br />
of works about famous actors. The workshop<br />
emphasizes vocal exercise, body movement,<br />
memorization and reader's theater.<br />
