GENERAL PROGRAM IN
AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES
(Interdepartmental Program)
The great diversity of crop and animal
enterprises which characterizes the Island's
agriculture requires well prepared individuals to
identify and solve the multiple and varied
problems which commonly affect agricultural
enterprises, rural life, economic and social
development.
The curriculum of the Agricultural Sciences
General Program is primarily designed to
prepare students for employment as agronomists
and professional agriculturists. Graduates from
this program may occupy positions which
require broad general knowledge and skills in
agricultural sciences.
The General Program in Agricultural Sciences
offers greater opportunities for studying the
technical aspects of agriculture. A student of
this program chooses electives in Agricultural
Education Extension Programs or any of the
other programs in agriculture. A three-credit
summer practicum is required as part of the
curriculum.
Graduates from this program may occupy
positions which require a broad general
knowledge of agricultural sciences.
