MANAGEMENT<br />

In this program, students develop knowledge of<br />

managerial functions, types of organizations,<br />

styles of management; human resources<br />

administration and industrial relationship skills;<br />

development and management of compensation<br />

systems; and an understanding of local and<br />

federal statutes affecting employees and<br />

businesses. Students learn skills needed to work<br />

in the management of human resources in a<br />

business or government environment.<br />

BACHELOR IN OFFICE<br />

ADMINISTRATION<br />

Students will acquire knowledge of accurate<br />

administrative procedures, master the use of<br />

technology in a modern office and experience a<br />

hands-on approach in an office environment.<br />

This degree prepares students to perform<br />

required tasks in private and business offices, as<br />

well as, in government agencies.<br />

ACADEMIC REGULATIONS<br />

The College of Business Administration requires<br />

a minimum grade of “C” in each course within<br />

each option.<br />

COOPERATIVE EDUCATION<br />

PROGRAM<br />

The Cooperative Education Program is a way of<br />

combining classroom work and job experience.<br />

Each year a selected group of students is allowed<br />

to participate in this program. Students selected<br />

are employed by different firms or government<br />

agencies in Puerto Rico and the United States.<br />

This enables students to obtain work experience<br />

as they complete their academic degree.<br />

In this program, a student has the opportunity to<br />

apply concepts learned at the university in<br />

practical business situations.<br />

Students who wish to participate must meet the<br />

following requirements:<br />

a. Completed three years of studies.<br />

b. Achieved a minimum 2.50 GPA.<br />

c. Fulfilled required prerequisites.<br />

d. Received authorization from the Dean<br />

of Business Administration.<br />

Students selected will be required to comply<br />

with the following conditions:<br />

a. Work at the assigned firm for a particular<br />

period of time.<br />

b. Be enrolled at the University in the<br />

assigned cooperative education course.<br />

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM<br />

The Internship Program provides each student<br />

with supervised work experience in a business<br />

enterprise or government agency under the<br />

supervision of a faculty member, in coordination<br />

with, an immediate supervisor at the work site.<br />

Students receive academic credit and the<br />

opportunity to apply acquired knowledge.<br />

To participate in this program, a student must<br />

meet the following requirements:<br />

a. Have completed the first three years of<br />

study.<br />

b. Obtain a minimum 2.50 GPA.<br />
