ADOF 4025. OFFICE ADMINISTRATION<br />
INTERNSHIP. Four credit hours. Eight hours of<br />
practice per week. Pre/Co-requisites: ADOF<br />
3009, ADOF 3105, ADOF 4005, ADOF 4019,<br />
ADOF 4020, ADOF 4065, ADOF 4080, and 12<br />
credits in professional electives.<br />
Training in office techniques through the practice<br />
and performance of tasks pertaining to the Office<br />
Administration area in internship centers selected<br />
and supervised by the professor. Knowledge,<br />
techniques, skills, and attitudes desirable in a<br />
professional specialized in the Office<br />
Administration fields will be rounded-up refined.<br />
ADOF 4055. INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS.<br />
Three credit hours. Three hours of lecture per<br />
week. Prerequisites: ESOR 4006 or GERH 4006.<br />
Study of the interpersonal relations and its impact<br />
on the work setting: structure and organization of<br />
the work setting and the skills required for human<br />
interaction.<br />
ADOF 4065. INTRODUCTION OF WORD<br />
PROCESSING. Three credit hours. Three hours of<br />
lecture with practice per week. Prerequisites:<br />
ADOF 3016 or CISE 3049.<br />
Basic concepts of word and information processing<br />
systems and their applications. Utilization of<br />
different word processing programs in a<br />
microcomputer.<br />
ADOF 4067. TRANSCRIPTION OF MAGNETIC<br />
METHODS. Four credit hours. Four hours of<br />
lecture per week. Prerequisites: ADOF 4065 and<br />
ADOF 4005.<br />
Learning, developing and mastering the art of<br />
transcribing recorded dictations to the computer.<br />
Review, development and integration of<br />
typewriting and language skills necessary for<br />
transcribing commercial documents. Development<br />
of proof reading skills.<br />
ADOF 4070. INTEGRATION OF OFFICE<br />
SYSTEMS. Three credit hours. Three hours of<br />
lecture per week. Prerequisites: ADOF 4065,<br />
ADMI 3007 and ADOF 3107.<br />
Synthesis, application and evaluation of concepts<br />
related with the role of the office as a support<br />
system. Emphasis on the integration of<br />
subsystems, short and long term strategic planning,<br />
and solving problems related with the process of<br />
change and the efficient use of the technological<br />
resources in the office.<br />
ADOF 4075. INTEGRATION OF INFORMATION<br />
PROCESSING PROGRAMS. Three credit hours.<br />
Three hours of lecture per week. Prerequisites:<br />
ADOF 4065 and ADMI 3007.<br />
Practical experience in office administration in a<br />
private industry or government office.<br />
ADOF 4077. DESIGN AND PROCESSING OF<br />
DOCUMENTS. Three credit hours. Three hours<br />
of lecture per week. Prerequisite: ADOF 4005.<br />
Design, composition and production of legal,<br />
governmental, medical, and industrial documents,<br />
among others, using the computer.<br />
ADOF 4080. TRAINING AND SEMINAR<br />
PLANNING. Three credit hours. Three hours of<br />
lecture per week. Prerequisites: ADOF 3105,<br />
ADOF 4019 and ESOR 4006 or GERH 4006.<br />
Development of skills and coordination of activities<br />
in the areas of office administration and personnel<br />
supervision. Study and application of the basic<br />
concepts of planning and organization of trainings<br />
and seminars for the office personnel. Emphasis in<br />
needs assessment, selection of human and<br />
technological resources, and the preparation of<br />
training proposals.<br />
SECRETARIAL SCIENCES<br />
CISE 3049. KEYBOARDING AND<br />
TYPEWRITING. Three credit hours. Three hours<br />
of lecture per week.<br />
Development of typewriting skills and the use of<br />
the keyboard on touch. Input of information to<br />
computers Preparation of documents such as<br />
letters, memorandum, reports, tables, etc.<br />
ACCOUNTING<br />
CONT 3005. ELEMENTARY ACCOUNTING I.<br />
Four credit hours. Four hours of lecture per week.<br />
The study of the basic procedures and principles of<br />
accounting related to recording business<br />
transactions and preparing and using financial<br />
statements of an enterprise. The following topics<br />
will be discussed: the accounting cycle, financial<br />
statements, accounting and valuation of assets and<br />
current liabilities.<br />
