ENFE 3005. INTRODUCTION TO NURSING.<br />

Three credit hours. Three hours of lecture per<br />

week.<br />

The historical development of nursing, its evolution<br />

and current trends; introduction to the concept of<br />

professional nursing.<br />

ENFE 3015. INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS<br />

IN NURSING. Three credit hours. Three hours of<br />

lecture per week. Prerequisite: (PSIC 3002 and<br />

ENFE 3005) or authorization of the Department<br />

Director.<br />

Introduction to the study of nursing as a therapeutic<br />

interpersonal process.<br />

ENFE 3021. INTRODUCTION TO CLINICAL<br />

NURSING I. Four credit hours. Two hours of<br />

lecture and one six-hour laboratory per week.<br />

Prerequisites: (ENFE 3005 and CIBI 3002 or CIBI<br />

3032) or authorization of the Director of the<br />

Department. Co-requisites: (BIOL 3715, BIOL<br />

3716 and ENFE 3015) or authorization of the<br />

Director of the Department.<br />

Fundamental concepts, knowledge and skills<br />

necessary for the practice of professional nursing in<br />

any clinical area.<br />

ENFE 3022. INTRODUCTION TO CLINICAL<br />

NURSING II. Four credit hours. Two hours of<br />

lecture and one six-hour laboratory per week.<br />

Prerequisite: ENFE 3021. Co-requisite: ENFE<br />

3035.<br />

Development of more complex clinical nursing<br />

skills.<br />

ENFE 3035. FUNDAMENTALS OF NUTRITION.<br />

Two credit hours. Two hours of lecture per week.<br />

Co-requisite: ENFE 3022.<br />

Basic concepts of nutrition, and its relation to<br />

health maintenance; nutritional requirements of<br />

various members of the family; psychological,<br />

cultural and economic factors which influence<br />

nutrition, with emphasis on low cost adequate<br />

nutrition; dietary problems in various illnesses.<br />
