6. Defining the mounting positions<br />

6.1 General requirements<br />

All <strong>de</strong>vices for the nurse call<br />

system<br />

Devices with displays<br />

Call switches, Call <strong>de</strong>vices<br />

Presence buttons<br />

Optical signalling <strong>de</strong>vices<br />

Signal lamps, Corridor displays<br />

- Consi<strong>de</strong>ring the different users, the process of raising a call<br />

must be simple and unambiguous, and a mix-up with other system<br />

elements must be virtually impossible.<br />

- Damage or <strong>de</strong>struction from external effects which may occur<br />

during normal use (e.g. when moving beds) must be virtually<br />

impossible.<br />

- Must not be installed in rooms with harmfull influences to telecommunications<br />

equipment.<br />

- Unobstructed view must be ensured (ComTerminal, Room‐<br />

Terminal, ComStation CT , ComStation T ).<br />

- Not subject to direct sun radiation.<br />

- Easy access and reach must be ensured.<br />

- Near the door.<br />

- Visual recognition must not be obscured by other stray light.<br />

- Called or paged persons shall be directed via the shortest<br />

distance to the call location.<br />

- Shall be easily allocated to the respective rooms.<br />

Room lamps<br />

In WCs and wet rooms - Comply with specifications acc. to DIN VDE 0100!<br />

Power supply units,<br />

OSYlink modules,<br />

OSYnet-SafetyController,<br />

OSYnet‐Y‐RepeaterOpto,<br />

OSYnet‐Gateway<br />

Distributor cabinets for both<br />

nurse call system and mains<br />

power supply<br />

- Use in dry rooms only; if possible within distribution cabinets<br />

(not insi<strong>de</strong> of patient or resi<strong>de</strong>nt rooms).<br />

- Easy access at any time (access door at least 60 cm wi<strong>de</strong>).<br />

- Heat transfer must not be blocked off.<br />

- When installed in switch cabinets, forced-air cooling may be<br />

required.<br />

- Consi<strong>de</strong>ring the effective voltage drop, the power supply unit<br />

should be located close to the biggest users.<br />

- Fire hazard! Danger of fire in case of short-circuit. Therefore,<br />

ensure sufficient ventilation in distribution cabinets.<br />

- After removing the outer cover, the high-voltage part must still<br />

be protected.<br />

- Connection terminals for the nurse call system and those for<br />

the high-voltage installations must be clearly separated and<br />

<strong>de</strong>signated as such, e.g. by way of <strong>de</strong>sign, shape, colour. Inscriptions<br />

alone are not sufficient to preclu<strong>de</strong> misuse.<br />

6.1.1 Mounting heights<br />

Prescribed mounting height acc. to DIN VDE 0834-1:2000:<br />
