SECTION 36 - GLAZING
36.1 OVERVIEW
Referto section O, General rules, which shall be read in conjunction with this section.
36.2 PREAMBLES
36.2.1 Rates to include
Cleaning on completion of glazing.
36.3 GENERAL PRINCIPLES
36.3.1
Glazing work shall be described and the various types, qualities and thicknesses
shall be stated. The description shall include the type of glazing compound and
method of fixing (e.g., puttied, bedded, beaded or with gaskets), the material towhich
fixed and type of unit.
36.3.2
References to glazing in this section shall be taken to include all types of glazing
materials.
36.3.3
Unless otherwise described in this section, all glazing material shall be measured as
the actual required size and shall be scheduled in square metres.
36.3.4
Each type of glazing shall be scheduled separately and the number of panes shall
be stated in the description.
36.3.5
Reglazing work shall be scheduled separately, and the location of such work shall
be stated.
36.3.6
Internal and external work shall be scheduled separately.
36.4 MEASUREMENT PROCEDURE
36.4.1
Float glass shall be classified under the following sizes:
(a) 0-2 m2 ;
(b) Exceeding 2.0 m2 and not exceeding 6.0 m2 ;
(c) Exceeding 6.0 m2.
36.4.2
Where any edge of float glass exceeds 3.0 m the glass shall be measured separately.
36.4.3
All other types of glazing shall be measured with no reference to size grouping.
