SECTION 29 - SOLID PLASTER
29.1 OVERVIEW
Refer to section O, General rules, which shall be read in conjunction with this section.
29.2 PREAMBLES

29.3 GENERAL PRINCIPLES
Making good around pipes, sanitary fittings and the like.
29.3.1
Solid plaster shall be described and the number of coats, composition and finished
thickness shall be stated. The description shall include the preparation of surfaces
to be plastered, and surface finish of plaster.
29.3.2
Exterior work shall be scheduled separately from interior work.
29.3.3
Plaster shall, unless otherwise required, be scheduled in square metres of surface
area covered.
29.4 MEASUREMENT PROCEDURE
29.4.1
Plaster on concrete, blockwork, brickwork, sheet foam insulation, backing board or
other surfaces shall be each measured separately.
29.4.2
Plaster on lathing shall be measured separately and the description shall include the
lathing .
29.4.3
Work to floors, walls and ceilings shall be measured separately. Work to floors to falls
or crossfalls shall be so described. Work to sloping ceilings shall be measured
separately.
29.4.4
Work to integral beams, perimeter of openings and to integral columns shall be
measured with the wall or ceiling and this shall be stated.
29.4.5
Workto isolated beams and to isolated columns shall each be measured separately.
29.4.6
Beams or columns where the substrate or finish are different from the abutting
ceilings or walls respectively shall be measured as isolated work.
