23.4 MEASUREMENT PROCEDURE<br />
23.4.1 Pipework<br />
23.4.1 .i<br />
Each size and specification of pipe shall be measured separately in metres, stating<br />
nominal bore and thickness or mass as required. The description shall include the<br />
type of material and method of jointing and the general background material to which<br />
the pipe is fixed.<br />
23.4.1.2<br />
Bends, elbows, tees, and the like to pipework of 25 mm nominal bore and over shall<br />
be enumerated as extra value.<br />
23.4.1.3<br />
Connections between pipes of dissimilar materials shall be enumerated.<br />
23.4.1.4<br />
Connections to existing services shall be enumerated. Meters, tobies, and the like<br />
shall be enumerated.<br />
23.4.1.5<br />
Insulation and protection to pipework shall be described and measured separately<br />
in metres for each type and size of pipe.<br />
23.4.1.6<br />
Insulation to bends, elbows, junctions, valves and the like shall be enumerated as<br />
extra value for pipework 25 mm nominal bore and over.<br />
23.4.1.7<br />
Flush pipes and sparge pipes shall be enumerated.<br />
23.4.1.8<br />
Painting and pipe identification shall be scheduled in accordance with section 35.<br />

23.4.1.9<br />
Identification of pipework, valves and equipment shall be itemised.<br />
23.4.2 Tanks and cylinders<br />
23.4.2.1<br />
Tanks shall be enumerated. The description shall include capacity and dimensions,<br />
tappings, connections, cover, method of fixing, ballvalve, and silencing pipe.<br />
23.4.2.2<br />
Cylinders, caloriiiers, and the like shall be enumerated, and the description shall<br />
include the type, make, capacity, connections, casing and lagging. Elements,<br />
thermostats and the like, where required, shall be enumerated, and the description<br />
shall include the capacity and make.<br />
23.4.2.3<br />
Trays shall be enumerated.<br />
23.4.2.4<br />
Overflows and expansion vents shall be measured as for pipework.<br />
