17.4.1 I Sealants<br />

17.4.1 1.1<br />

Joint sealing compound shall be measured in metres, stating the type, grade,<br />

sectional size and backing material if required. Primers for sealants and masking<br />

shall be deemed to be included.<br />

17.4.11.2<br />

Compressible sealing strips shall be measured in metres for each uncompressed<br />

size.<br />

17.4.12 Hardware<br />

All hardware shall be enumerated as follows:<br />

Hardware fixed to walls, floors, timber, metal, glass or other material shall be<br />

measured separately and so described;<br />

Bolts, explosive fastenings and other metal anchors, fastenings and the like<br />

required for fixing hardware shall be included in the description of the item<br />

concerned;<br />

The finish required to hardware shall be described;<br />

The fixing of fanlight and window sash geared openers shall be described and<br />

the lengths of cable or conduit, height above floor of operating gear, and of<br />

sash bottom rails shall be stated:<br />

Where monetary sums or rates are measured forthe supply only of hardware<br />

the various types of fittings to be fixed shall be separately enumerated;<br />

Where construction keying, masterkeying or keying alike of locks is required<br />

this shall be stated in a separate item;<br />

Removal of hardware for painting or the like shall be stated.<br />
