25.4.3.1 1<br />
Continuous grilles and diffusers shall be measured in metres. Stop ends and<br />
changes in direction shall be enumerated as extra value.<br />
25.4.3.1 2<br />
Flexible connections in ductwork, connections to equipment, connections of ducts<br />
of different materials and connections to building openings shall be enumerated.<br />
25.4.3.1 3<br />
The fixing only of duct mounted automatic controls, gauges and the like shall be<br />
enumerated. The item shall include the supply of fixings.<br />
25.4.4 Insulation<br />
25.4.4.1<br />
Insulation to pipework shall be described and measured in metres for each type and<br />
size of pipe.<br />

25.4.4.2<br />
Coneing down to valves and fittings shall be included in the description.<br />
25.4.4.3<br />
Insulation to bends, elbows, tees, valves, and the like shall be enumerated as extra<br />
value for pipework 25 mm nominal bore and over.<br />
25.4.4.4<br />
External insulation to ductwork shall be measured in square metres of air stream<br />
surface area calculated in accordance with Appendix A, separately for each type and<br />
thickness.<br />
25.4.4.5<br />
Insulation to equipment shall be enumerated.<br />
25.4.4.6<br />
Insulation to cool rooms, plenums and the like shall be measured in square metres<br />
of surface area to be insulated stating type of insulation and surface being fixed to.<br />
Insulation to curved surfaces and the like shall be measured as extra value.<br />
25.4.4.7<br />
The description of each item shall include cladding or proprietary surface finishes<br />
where applicable.<br />
25.4.5 Controls<br />
25.4.5.1<br />
Where fully detailed in the specifications and drawings the supply and installation of<br />
all control components, control panels and t he like shall be described and enumerated.<br />
Automatic control systems shall be enumerated. Reference shall be made to<br />
relevant specification clauses and drawings.<br />
25.4.5.2<br />
The supply only of automatic controls for installation by others (control valves,<br />
damper motors, and the like) shall be enumerated separately.<br />
