22.4.3 Roofing
22.4.3.1
Roofing shall be measured in square metres of surface area, including the extra
material in turn-ups, turn-downs and the like. Small or isolated areas shall be
measured separately.

22.4.3.2
Corrugated and trough roofing in excess of 15 m in length shall be measured
separately.
22.4.3.3
Specially formed sheets shall be measured as extra value.
22.4.3.4
Work to curved, conical and spherical roofs shall be so described stating the radius
or diameter.
22.4.3.5
Translucent sheets within other types of roofing shall be measured in square metres
of daylight opening and the number of openings shall be stated.
22.4.3.6
The description of sheet roofing shall include the forming of rolls, seams, laps, ribs
and joints.
22.4.3.7
Deductions shall be made for all openings and the like having an area of 2.0 m* and
over. Deductions shall be made for all translucent sheeting.
22.4.3.8
Non-deducted openings shall be enumerated.
22.4.3.9
Raking cutting and cutting to both sides of hips and valleys and circular cutting shall
be measured in metres.
22.4.3.1 O
Upstands, turn-ups, turn-downs, folding, capping, stopping ribs or seams and the
like shall be measured in metres as extra value.

Covers and timber formers to rolls shall be measured separately in metres. Extra
work to ends of rolls and standing seams shall be enumerated.

Turning into chases, beads, fillets, and the like shall be measured in metres as extra
value.
