SECTION 15 - METALWORK<br />
15.1 OVERVIEW<br />
Referto section O, General rules, which shall be read in conjunction with this section.<br />

15.2.1<br />
The tables used for calculating the mass of members shall be stated.<br />
15.2.2 Rates to include<br />
(a)<br />
(b)<br />
Supply, fabrication and delivery;<br />
Fixing in position.<br />
15.3 GENERAL PRINCIPLES<br />
15.3.1<br />
The description of each item shall include:<br />
(a)<br />
(b)<br />
(c)<br />
(d)<br />
(e)<br />
Type of metal;<br />
Finish;<br />
Mass, where applicable;<br />
Fixings which are part of the item;<br />
Protection by wrapping, coating, etc.<br />
15.3.2<br />
Detailed quantities shall be scheduled for composite fabricated items with specific<br />
reference to drawing detail numbers, and/or specification clause numbers. The<br />
description shall include the overall size and shape. Detailed quantities shall show:<br />
(a)<br />
(b)<br />
(c)<br />
(d)<br />
Members either in metres or kilograms;<br />
Welding either in metres or enumerated;<br />
Fittings, drillings, fixings and the like enumerated;<br />
Other labours.<br />
15.3.3<br />
Sizes of members, where scheduled, shall be nominal only.<br />
15.3.4<br />
Where members are moulded over a core, timber or otherwise, the item shall include<br />
the core.<br />
15.3.5<br />
Work requiring assembly on site, where so detailed, other than bolting together, shall<br />
be so described with the site labours defined.<br />
15.3.6<br />
Standard components may be described by the product name and catalogue<br />
number.<br />
