24.4.5<br />
Pipework including bedding and haunching shall be measured in stages of 1.5 m in<br />
depth. Vertical pipework shall be measured separately.<br />
24.4.6<br />
Connections to existing sewers and drains shall be enumerated. The description<br />
shall include the depth and all necessary excavation and size and type of connections.<br />
24.4.7<br />
Connections to plumbing, soil, waste pipes and the like shall be enumerated.<br />
24.4.8<br />
Junctions, bends, inspection bends, inspection pipes, and the likeshall be enumerated<br />
as extra value over ordinary pipework.<br />
24.4.9<br />
Gullytraps, Buchantraps, greasetraps, yardsumps, andthe likeshall beenumerated.<br />
Excavation, concrete surrounds, gratings and connections todrains, where required,<br />
shall be included in the description of the item.<br />
24.4.10<br />
Covers and surrounds to drains shall be measured in metres. Reinforcement shall<br />
be measured by mass in accordance with section 9.<br />
24.4.1 1<br />
Manholes, inspection chambers, septic tanks, cesspits, and the like shall be<br />
enumerated giving internal size and depth to invert.<br />
The description shall include excavation, pipes, channels and the like. Detailed<br />
quantities shall be measured where the above are of an unusual construction or size.<br />
24.4.12<br />
Sump pumps, macerator pumps and the like shall be enumerated. The description<br />
shall include details of ratings, switching, floats etc. and for supports and lifting<br />
requirements. Wiring connections and controls are to be measured in section 28.<br />
