SECTION 21 - INSULATING PANEL SYSTEMS
21.1 OVERVIEW
Referto section O, General rules, which shall be read in conjunction with this section.
21.2 PREAMBLES
21.2.1
Particulars shall be given of:
(a)

Any special rating of the core, density and special finish, colour required to the
cladding or skin material;
Any special requirement relating to inclusion of setvices, pipesand wiring into
panels.
21.2.2 Rates to include

Running joints as required to suit transport, handling, stock widths and
lengths, associated extrusions, components, fixings, vapour seals, sealants
as required to complete the joint;
Bolts and miscellaneous support fixings;
Support systemsand hangers and hangers for ceiling panels unlessscheduled
elsewhere;

21.3 GENERAL PRINCIPLES
All necessaiy junctions between metal extrusions.
21.3.1
This section covers the panelled wall and ceilinghoof systems which normally
comprise an expanded polystyrene or similar core sandwiched between factory
bonded skins of prefinished aluminium or steel sheet cladding. Floor insulation may
comprise panels as above or polystyrene panel only with no skidcladding (below
concrete topping).

21.3.2
Panels shall be described according to their type, thickness and physical position in
the structure. Types of joints between panels shall be described. Wall heights and
heights of ceiling/roof panels above the base slab shall be stated.
