SECTION 21 - INSULATING PANEL SYSTEMS<br />
21.1 OVERVIEW<br />
Referto section O, General rules, which shall be read in conjunction with this section.<br />
21.2 PREAMBLES<br />
21.2.1<br />
Particulars shall be given of:<br />
(a)<br />
(b)<br />
Any special rating of the core, density and special finish, colour required to the<br />
cladding or skin material;<br />
Any special requirement relating to inclusion of setvices, pipesand wiring into<br />
panels.<br />
21.2.2 Rates to include<br />
(a)<br />
(b)<br />
(c)<br />
Running joints as required to suit transport, handling, stock widths and<br />
lengths, associated extrusions, components, fixings, vapour seals, sealants<br />
as required to complete the joint;<br />
Bolts and miscellaneous support fixings;<br />
Support systemsand hangers and hangers for ceiling panels unlessscheduled<br />
elsewhere;<br />

21.3 GENERAL PRINCIPLES<br />
All necessaiy junctions between metal extrusions.<br />
21.3.1<br />
This section covers the panelled wall and ceilinghoof systems which normally<br />
comprise an expanded polystyrene or similar core sandwiched between factory<br />
bonded skins of prefinished aluminium or steel sheet cladding. Floor insulation may<br />
comprise panels as above or polystyrene panel only with no skidcladding (below<br />
concrete topping).<br />

21.3.2<br />
Panels shall be described according to their type, thickness and physical position in<br />
the structure. Types of joints between panels shall be described. Wall heights and<br />
heights of ceiling/roof panels above the base slab shall be stated.<br />
