SECTION 6 - CONCRETE WORK
6.1 OVERVIEW
Refertosection O, General rules, which shall be read in conjunction with this section.
6.2 PREAMBLES
6.2.1 Rates to include

Curing concrete generally.
6.3 CONCRETE
6.3.1 General principles
6.3.1.1
Unless otherwise provided, concrete shall be scheduled in cubic metres.
6.3.1.2
Deductions shall be made for:
(a)
(b)
(c)
Linear voids having a sectional area of 0.01 m2 and over;
Openings of 0.20 m2 and over;
Downpipes, boxed sections, cored slabs, ducts and the like having a
sectional area of 0.01 m2 and over.
6.3.1.3
Volume of reinforcement shall not be deducted.
6.3.1.4
The separate widths and thicknesses shall be stated where practicable.
6.3.1.5
Pouring sequence and any limiting dimensions shall be scheduled where specified.
6.3.1 -6
Special curing of concrete shall be scheduled where specified
6.3.1.7
Reinforced concrete, unreinforced concrete, concrete encasing structural steel,
filling hollow members shall each be scheduled separately and so described.
6.3.1.8
Concrete shall be scheduled separately for each mix or strength.
6.3.1.9
Treatment of the finished face of concrete beyond t he ordinary depositing, spreading,
screeding or levelling shall be scheduled in square metres or metres as appropriate.
6.3.1.10
Treatment to surfaces laid to falls or cross falls shall be scheduled separately.
6.3.1.1 1
Holding-down bolts, blocks, clips, sleeves and the like shall be enumerated.
