SECTION 28 - ELECTRICAL SERVICES<br />
28.1 OVERVIEW<br />
Refer to section O, General rules, which shall be read in conjunction with this section.<br />
28.2 PREAMBLES<br />
28.2.1 Rates to include<br />

28.3 GENERAL PRINCIPLES<br />
28.3.1<br />
Surface run work shall be scheduled separately from concealed work.<br />
28.3.2<br />
The position of outlets and the material to which they are fixed shall be stated.<br />
28.4 MEASUREMENT PROCEDURE<br />
28.4.1 Boards<br />
Switchboards and distribution boards shall be described and enumerated. Reference<br />
shall be made to relevant drawings and specification clauses. The position of and the<br />
method of fixing such boards shall be stated.<br />
28.4.2 Mains<br />
28.4.2.1<br />
The incoming supply connection shall be described and enumerated.<br />
28.4.2.2<br />
Mains and submains shall be measured in metres of route length giving the size and<br />
type of cable and the method of fixing. An allowance shall be added of 2 metres per<br />
end for tails. Excavation, protective covering and bedding shall be measured<br />
separately in metres. Opening of roads, footpaths and the like shall be measured as<br />
extra value. Making good if required shall be measured and described separately.<br />
28.4.2.3<br />
Insulators, cable terminations including boxes, polesand the like shall be enumerated.<br />
28.4.3 Trunking<br />
28.4.3.1<br />
Trunking, cable trays and ladders shall be measured in metres.<br />
