37.3.4 Proprietary paving
37.3.4.1
Proprietary paving stones shall be measured in accordance with section 32. The
description shall include for:
(a)
(b)
(c)
(d)
(e)
Trimming sub base;
Proof rolling (if required);
Sub base or basecourse layers, stating thickness and grade;
Paving slabs stating type, size, orientation, thickness, colour and laying
pattern;
Final compaction including additional sand layer if required and removal on
completion.
37.3.4.2
The perimeters to paving shall be measured in metres with circular work measured
separately.
37.3.5 Landscaping
37.3.5.1
Excavation to areas shall be measured in cubic metres.

37.3.5.2
Topsoil shall be measured in cubic metres. The description shall include the average
depth of topsoil.
37.3.5.3
Plants shall be enumerated.
37.3.5.4
Where no landscaping plan has been prepared, areas to be planted or sown shall
be measured in square metres.
37.3.5.5
Ground cover such as bark, polythene etc. shall be measured in square metres. The
description shall include the thickness of cover and the grade.
37.3.5.6
Rock pools, rock gardens and the like shall be measured in square metres. The
description shall include the type of construction, pattern, layout etc. Reference shall
be made to any drawings or details given.
37.3.5.7
Crib walls, pole walls and the like shall be measured in square metres of face area.
The description shall include the size and type of components and the height of the
wall, and any integral filling.
37.3.6 Sundries
Spraying with weed-killer shall be measured in square metres.
