SECTION 30 - PLASTERBOARD LININGS<br />

30.1 OVERVIEW<br />

30.1.1<br />

Refer to section O, General rules, which shall be read in conjunction with this section.<br />

30.1.2<br />

This section shall apply equally to fibrous plaster and to paper-bound plaster-cored<br />

wallboard. Separate work sections for each type of plasterboard lining shall be<br />

scheduled.<br />

30.2 PREAMBLES<br />

30.2.1 Rates to include<br />

(a)<br />

(b)<br />

All penetrations, cutouts and the like;<br />

Making good and stopping the same.<br />

30.2.2<br />

Particulars shall be given of:<br />

(a)<br />

(b)<br />

(c)<br />

(d)<br />

(e)<br />

Performance qualities required (e.g., sound rating, fire rating etc.);<br />

Thickness of sheets;<br />

Special pre-finished or pre-applied treatment:<br />

Method of fixing and the material to which the lining is fixed;<br />

Method of stopping including the materials to be used, such as jointing tape<br />

and finishing compound as specified.<br />

30.2.3<br />

The typical wall height shall be stated.<br />

30.3 GENERAL PRINCIPLES<br />

30.3.1<br />

Plasterboard shall be described according to its type and physical location in the<br />

structure and shall, unless otherwise required, be scheduled in square metres of<br />

surface. For multilayer linings the number of layers, finished thickness and the<br />

method of fixing shall be stated.<br />

30.3.2<br />

Stopping shall bescheduled separatelyfrom the lining for eachtypeof finish required<br />

and physical location.<br />

30.3.3<br />

Deductions shall be made for all openings and the like having an area of 1 .O m2 and<br />

over.<br />

30.3.4<br />

Grounds, battens, metal hangers, or similar fixings for plasterboard shall be<br />

scheduled separately under the relevant sections of this Standard but where part of<br />

a proprietary system they shall be included in this section.<br />

30.3.5<br />

Circular work shall be Scheduled separately. The description shall include the radius<br />

of the sweep and state whether the surface is concave or convex.<br />
