17.4.2 Framing
17.4.2.1
Framing timbers shall be measured in metres according to their function.
17.4.2.2
Gauged or dressed framing shall be measured separately.
17.4.2.3
Timbers shall be measured separately for each 300 mm of length in excess of
6.0 m.
17.4.2.4
The description shall state whether passings are measured or not.
17.4.2.5
Herringbone strutting shall be measured as the actual length of timberfixed in place.
17.4.3 Fixings
17.4.3.1
Work fixed with screws, plugs, screws and cups or adhesive shall be appropriately
described and measured separately.
17.4.3.2
Bolts, explosive driven pins, timber connectors, proprietary fixings and the like shall
be enumerated.
17.4.3.3
Unless included elsewhere, the boring of holes for bolts, sinking of heads, pelleting
and the like shall be enumerated.
17.4.4 Trusses
17.4.4.1
Timbers in roof principals, trusses, and the like shall be measured separately.
17.4.4.2
Proprietary trusses shall be enumerated, giving size and height for erection.
17.4.4.3
Metalwork and fixings shall be enumerated.
17.4.5 Paper and insulation
17.4.5.1
Building papers, wire netting, insulation blankets, quilts and the like shall be
described and measured in square metres of surface area covered. The lap and
fixings shall be stated.
17.4.5.2
Insulation batts, loose fill and the like shall be described and measured in square
metres over the framing.
