SECTION 25 - MECHANICAL SERVICES<br />
25.1 OVERVIEW<br />
Refer to section O, General rules, which shall be read in conjunction with this section.<br />
25.2 PREAMBLES<br />
25.2.1 Rates to include<br />
25.3 GENERAL PRINCIPLES<br />
Running joints, short lengths and straight non-reducing connections to<br />
pipework;<br />
All bends, elbows, tees and the like to pipework less than 25 mm nominal<br />
bore;<br />
All insulation to bends, elbows, tees, valves and the like on pipework less than<br />
25 mm bore;<br />
Jointing of taps, valves and the like to pipework and fittings;<br />
Standard pipe fittings, clips, saddles, brackets, hangers and the like;<br />
Fixing, hangers and supports to all ductwork and duct components;<br />
Forming holes otherthan holesthrough concrete, concrete masonry, brickwork<br />
and steel.<br />
25.3.1<br />
The work shall be scheduled under the following general classifications:<br />
Plant and equipment items;<br />
Pipework;<br />
Ductwork;<br />
Thermal insulation;<br />
Automatic controls;<br />
Electrical work;<br />
Painting;<br />
Sundries;<br />
Such additional classifications for special services etc. as are appropriate;<br />
General.<br />

Within the above general classifications, items shall be grouped by systems (for<br />
example supply/return/extract ductwork, chilled water/heating/gas pipework) and<br />
quantities shall be separated for varying locations (plantrooms, floor levels, shafts<br />
and the like).<br />
