22.4.4 Accessories<br />
22.4.4.1<br />
Ridges, hips, valleys and the like shall be described and measured in metres. The<br />
description shall include the type e.g., notched, capped and the like.<br />
22.4.4.2<br />
Ridge stop ends, caps, hip starters, and the like shall be enumerated.<br />
22.4.4.3<br />
Flashings shall be measured in metres stating whether notched over roofing ribs or<br />
dressed into corrugations, etc., and the method of fixing; stepped work shall be<br />
measured separately.<br />
22.4.4.4<br />
Flashings to flues, vents and the like shall be enumerated.<br />
22.4.4.5<br />
Cutting and/or sealing of flashing chases shall be described and measured in<br />
metres.<br />
22.4.4.6<br />
Angles, mitres, stop ends, expansion joints, sumps, outlets, overflows and the like<br />
shall be enumerated.<br />
22.4.4.7<br />
Wire balloons, gratings and the like shall be enumerated. Vermin proofing, gutter<br />
guards and the like shall be measured in metres.<br />

22.4.4.8<br />
Work about gutter and downpipe openings, pipes and the like through the roof shall<br />
be enumerated.<br />
22.4.4.9<br />
Work to dormers and the like shall be so described.<br />
22.4.5 Skylights<br />
22.4.5.1<br />
Skylights shall be enumerated and it shall be stated whether the roofing has been<br />
deducted. Flashings to skylights shall be described and included in the description<br />
with the forming of the opening in the roof.<br />
22.4.5.2<br />
Glazing to skylights shall be measured separately in accordance with section 36.<br />
22.4.6 Ventilators<br />
Roof ventilators shall be enumerated. The type of base and the size of the ventilator<br />
shall be stated.<br />
22.4.7 Gutters and downpipes<br />
Gutters, spouting, downpipes and the like where not an integral part of the roofing<br />
shall be measured in accordance with section 23.<br />
