11 .1 OVERVIEW<br />
Refertosection O, General rules, which shall be read in conjunction with this section.<br />
11.2 PREAMBLES<br />
11.2.1 Rates to include<br />
Temporary screeds, grounds and the like.<br />
1 1 .3 GENERAL PRINCIPLES<br />
11.3.1<br />
Mastic asphalt and similar treatments shall be scheduled separately for each type<br />
and shall be scheduled in square metres of net surface area. The description shall<br />
state whether horizontal, vertical or overhead work. Deductions shall be made for all<br />
openings having an area of 0.5 m2 and over.<br />
11.3.2<br />
The number of coats and thickness shall be stated.<br />
11.3.3<br />
The nature of the base on which the asphalt is applied shall be stated in the<br />
description.<br />
11.3.4<br />
Work on slopes exceeding 1 O degrees shall be scheduled separately, and the slope<br />
stated.<br />
11.3.5<br />
Work in confined situations, work with less than 1 .O m working space or work that<br />
must be carried out overhead, shall be scheduled separately.<br />
11.3.6<br />
Work subject to water pressure shall be scheduled separately.<br />
11.3.7<br />
If work is required to be done in sections specially ordered or not continuously done<br />
with the bulk of the work, it shall be so stated.<br />
11.3.8<br />
Felt, expanded metal and the like, where required, shall be described and included<br />
with the items to which they apply.<br />
