12.4.11<br />
Flaunching to bottom of cavities shall be measured in metres including raking out<br />
joints for weepholes.<br />
12.4.12<br />
Rod reinforcement shall be measured in this section in accordance with section 9.<br />
12.4.13<br />
Concrete filling, grouting and the like shall be measured as follows:<br />

Filling to cavity between skins in square metres stating the width of the cavity;<br />
Filling to cells of bricks shall be measured in metres.<br />

Centring for openings shall be fully described and enumerated or total length of soff it<br />
measured in metres with the number of openings stated. Centring to be left in shall<br />
be measured separately.<br />

Where cavities are closed at openings, ends and the like, an item for closing same<br />
shall be measured in metres, and the material and method shall be described.<br />
12.4.16<br />
Lintels, rough relieving arches, arches of varying shapes and types and arches of<br />
purpose-made bricks shall be enumerated as extra value over ordinary brickwork,<br />
and thethickness of the wall, the average girth and the number of rings in height shall<br />
be stated.<br />
12.4.17<br />
Projections and pilasters shall be measured in metres and the sizes shall be stated.<br />
12.4.18<br />
Steps shall be measured in metres. The descriptions shall include sizes of risers and<br />
treads.<br />

Projecting plinth courses, strings and cornices shall be measured in metres and the<br />
number of courses and the projections shall be stated.<br />
12.4.20<br />
All mitres, stoppings and returned ends to the foregoing shall be enumerated.<br />
External, internal and irregular angles shall be measured separately.<br />
12.4.21<br />
Copings shall be measured in metres. Ramps, angles, ends, and the like shall be<br />
enumerated.<br />
12.4.22<br />
Caps, bases and neckings to pilasters shall be enumerated and the extreme<br />
dimensions and girth of mouldings shall be stated.<br />
12.4.23<br />
Surface ornamentations, patterned brickwork, carved panels, corbels and the like<br />
exceeding 1 .O m* shall be measured in square metres. Any necessary projections<br />
shall be stated and the extra brickwork for the projection shall be included in the<br />
description.<br />
