7.1 Institutional Considerations
Institutional framework for each waste stream would include the organizations which are responsible for
the formation of policy, for planning and for enforcement; the business organizations who are also the
generators as well as the catalytic institutions. Separate institutions / organizations / generators have roles
based on the type of the solid waste being generated in the city of Pune. The existing institutional
arrangements are presented as Figure 7.1.
