<strong>Strategic</strong> <strong>Action</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> Report<br />

The proposed program is designed to accomplish following objectives:<br />

1. To understand the concept of ISWM in the context of Pune city<br />

2. To introduce the ISWM <strong>Action</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> developed for Pune City<br />

3. To introduce the Toolkit for ISWM Awareness-raising<br />

4. To train potential trainers on the relevant elements of the toolkit for targeting specific<br />

stakeholder groups<br />

5. To provide resources that could be used for further adaptation, replication and up-scaling<br />

Participants<br />

About 30 participants representing their interest, past work and outreach potential specific to SWM.<br />

These could include Civic Society representatives, NGOs, Association representatives, professionals,<br />

media representatives etc cutting across Schools, Industries, Services (Hotels, Hospitals) etc<br />

Training Methodology<br />

The training program will consist of short lectures followed by interactive group discussions /<br />

workshop sessions. Typically for each session the lecture would not exceed 30-45 minutes and the<br />

remaining time would be devoted for interaction among the participants and faculty. This is expected<br />

to make the program more productive lively and interesting.<br />

Duration and Timing<br />

One day - sometimes during the second half of July 2007. Exact timing would be finalized in<br />

consultation with PMC and UNEP-IETC. Invites, Venue and refreshments will be responsibility of<br />

PMC. Provision of technical materials and conduct will be Dr Prasad Modak’s responsibility.<br />
