EDRE 5352 Literacy in the Secondary Schools 3<br />

EDUC 5331 Math for Preadolescents (if teaching field is math) OR<br />

EDUC 5350 Science for Preadolescents (If teaching field is science) OR<br />

EDUC 5340 Social Studies for Preadolescents (if teaching field is social studies)<br />

Three (3) hours of graduate electives (EDUC 5345 recommended) may be fulfilled through<br />

student teaching.<br />

Additional course work (undergraduate or graduate) in the teaching field may be also required and is determined<br />

on an individual basis by the certification officer and documented in a certification plan. Certification<br />

also requires student teaching or an approved equivalent and successful completion of content area and pedagogy<br />

state certification exams.<br />

ACP students must complete the following courses after acceptance into the Teacher Education Program.<br />

Besides these courses, ACP students must pass the required content area and PPR state certification exams.<br />

EDUC 6312: Secondary School C & I<br />

EDUC 5001: ACP Teaching in the Early Childhood Grade 12 Classroom (Internship)<br />

ACP students pursuing 4-8 or 8-12 plans must have at least twelve (12) hours of undergraduate coursework in<br />

their desired teaching field to be accepted into the program.<br />

Curriculum and Instruction with a Specialization in Instructional Technology<br />

Students may obtain the Specialization in Instructional Technology by completing the requirements for the MEd<br />

degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a Specialization in Instructional Technology or by completing the<br />

twenty-seven (27) hours of instructional technology course work included in the degree if they already possess a<br />

graduate degree. All course work must be completed with no grade less than ―C‖.<br />

This program requires the following thirty-six (36) hours:<br />
