Attendance at ATC lectures and instruction and the use of ATC equipment<br />
by local arrangement with the ATC Squadron Commander.<br />
<strong>The</strong> flying of a Recognition pennant bearing the Groups Recognition<br />
number.<br />
(v) Two yearly renewal is initiated by National Office after - annual census<br />
returns have been checked by National Air Activities Adviser - a list of<br />
Groups with appropriate strength leadership is forwarded to RNZAF with a<br />
recommendation that recognition continue. Following inspection recognition<br />
is renewed subject to the Inspecting officer’s concurrence.<br />
(vi) Should any Group not meet the RNZAF standard the RNZAF will advise<br />
National Office that recognition will not be renewed.<br />
(vii) Upon a Group ceasing to be recognised the Recognition pennant is to be<br />
returned to National Office immediately, and the Recognition Badge must<br />
be removed from all uniforms forthwith.<br />
(viii) One months notice will be given to a recognised Group by the Zone Leader<br />
should he or she feel that at any time the Group falls below the required<br />
standards. At the expiry of this notice, the Zone Leader will inform National<br />
Office, who will consider the case for suspension of recognition.<br />
(ix) Where a Group consists of a Cub Pack only, it is not eligible for recognition.<br />

23. ACTIVITY INTENTION FORM<br />
(a) <strong>The</strong> Group Leader or nominee must approve and sign an activity intention form<br />
before any of the activities described below are undertaken by Keas, Cubs,<br />
<strong>Scouts</strong> or Venturers.<br />
(i) All activities (regardless of duration) which include, tramping, caving,<br />
canoeing, sailing, rafting, cycling expeditions, underwater diving, skiing,<br />
horse trekking, ice or snow work, shooting, any other water activity (other<br />
than in public baths or a patrolled area), flying, gliding, parachuting,<br />
parasailing, any activity requiring <strong>Scouts</strong> to enter an Aircraft Movement<br />
Area or any activity where Search and Rescue services may be needed in<br />
an emergency, OR<br />
(ii) Any activity, of more than one day’s duration.<br />
Four copies of the Activity Intention form are to be completed and submitted to<br />
the Group Leader at least seven days before the activity starts. After approval the<br />
Group Leader will return one copy to the activity leader and send one copy to their<br />
Zone Leader and one to the Zone Leader(s) of the place(s) where the activity will<br />
take place, i.e. the Host Zone Leader.<br />
Note: When an Activity Intention form for a water activity or an activity requiring<br />
<strong>Scouts</strong> to enter an Aircraft Movements Area is submitted Group Leaders shall<br />
consult the Regional Water Activities Adviser or Regional Air Activities Adviser<br />
before giving their approval.<br />
(b) Where any activity described in paragraph (a) above is being organised by<br />
National, Regional or Zone, an activity intention form shall be completed by the<br />
organisers and a contact person must be appointed. Copies will be distributed<br />
and filed in accordance with the procedure established by the Zone Leader,<br />
Regional Development Manager or National Secretary.<br />
(c) An activity intention form is not required for any day activities at an approved<br />
centre where adequate supervision exists nor for any activity carried out by Sea<br />
<strong>Scouts</strong> in accordance with Clause 2.4 – Water Activities.<br />
