DEFINITIONS<br />

GROUP.<br />

<strong>The</strong> organisation of one or more Sections, operating under the supervision of one Group<br />

Leader. <strong>The</strong> term "Group" applies to the unit even if lacking one or more of the Sections.<br />

SECTION.<br />

One of the parts of a Group, i.e. Kea Club, Cub Pack, Scout Troop, Venturer Unit, Sea Scout<br />

Troop, Air Scout Troop, Venturer Sea Scout Unit, Venturer Air Scout Unit.<br />

ZONE.<br />

A number of Scout Groups as determined by the National Office cooperating under the<br />

supervision of a Zone Leader.<br />

REGION.<br />

A number of Scout Zones as determined by National Office coordinated by a Regional<br />

Development Manager.<br />

GROUP ADULT LEADER.<br />

A term including the G.L., A.G.L and any Adult Leader of any Section of the Group.<br />

SCOUT<br />

includes: Keas, Cubs, <strong>Scouts</strong> and Venturers.<br />

CLUB, PACK, TROOP, UNIT.<br />

<strong>The</strong>se words are used in the place of Kea Club, Cub Pack, Scout Troop, Venturer Unit.<br />

ADULT LEADER<br />

includes: all warranted appointments.<br />

GROUP LEADER.<br />

<strong>The</strong> term "G.L." means, where the context so requires in the absence of a person holding a<br />

warrant for this rank the Adult Leader who, with the approval of the Z.L., is in charge of the<br />

Group.<br />

ASSOCIATION or THE SCOUT ASSOCIATION or SCOUTS New Zealand<br />

Means <strong>The</strong> Scout Association of New Zealand as incorporated by <strong>The</strong> Scout Association of New<br />

Zealand Act, 1956.<br />

NATIONAL OFFICE:<br />

<strong>The</strong> term National Office wherever used in these rules, unless the context otherwise requires,<br />

means the Chief Executive or other authorised officer acting on behalf of the Chief Executive or<br />

on behalf the National Executive Committee.<br />

NOTE:<br />

- Except where context otherwise indicates or requires, the above expressions include the<br />

corresponding Sea or Air designations.<br />
