UNIFORM AND BADGES<br />
(a)<br />

Clothing worn should be suitable for the activity being undertaken in the interest<br />
of the health and safety of participants. Clothing need not comply with uniform<br />
requirements on informal occasions. Correct uniform should be worn on<br />
occasions specified by the Adult Leaders in charge. Uniform may also be worn on<br />
other occasions when it may be in the best interest of the Movement.<br />
All members of the Movement who have made the Scout Promise are entitled to<br />
wear an approved uniform. <strong>The</strong> correct uniform for members of all Branches and<br />
Sections of the Movement is fully set out in Management Procedures.<br />
c) Except as otherwise provided no alteration may be made in the uniform as<br />
described, nor any addition to it. In particular, bright metal buttons,<br />
unauthorised badges, fancy decorations and personal adornments must not be<br />
displayed.<br />
(d)<br />
Members of the Movement are expected to take a pride in their appearance at all<br />
times.<br />
145. GIRLGUIDING AND GUIDERS<br />
(a)<br />
Subject to the approval of her Guider, a Ranger Guide helping with Scouting may<br />
wear Ranger Guide Uniform.<br />
(b) A Ranger or Guider who is granted a warrant, as an Adult Leader will wear<br />
uniform appropriate to the Scout warrant held.<br />
(c)<br />
In the case of a warranted Guider or Ranger Guide, Guide uniform should be<br />
worn at Guide functions.<br />
146. FORMER MEMBERS<br />
<strong>The</strong> Chief Executive, a Regional Development Manager or Zone Leader may authorise<br />
any former or visiting member of the Movement to wear uniform on specific occasions,<br />
which are under his / her jurisdiction<br />
147. BADGES - GENERAL<br />
1. Authorised and Official badges of the Association are classified as follows:<br />

Membership Badges<br />
Programme Badges<br />
Badges of Rank or Appointment<br />
Identification Badges and scarf emblems<br />

<strong>The</strong> design of all such badges requires approval and registration by National<br />
Office and production must be obtained through SCOUTS Direct.<br />
