Many badges incorporate the Arrowhead and/or the word "<strong>Scouts</strong>". <strong>The</strong>se and<br />
SCOUTS New Zealand and ADVENTURE PLUS! are protected by copyright or trademark<br />
and <strong>The</strong> Scout Association of New Zealand Act 1956.<br />
149. MEMBERSHIP BADGES<br />
1. <strong>The</strong> Scout Badge is according to the Founder..."<strong>The</strong> Arrowhead which shows the<br />
North on a map or on the compass".<br />
2. <strong>The</strong> World Membership Badge consists of a white Scout Arrowhead within a<br />
white circle of rope on a purple background.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Scout Wings badge may be awarded to any Venturer Scout, or other youth<br />
on a Scout aviation activity, who has completed a solo flight in a powered<br />
aircraft or glider and can demonstrate a sound understanding of basic knowledge<br />
associated with safe aircraft operation.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Scout Wings badge may be similarly awarded to any Adult Leader or Rover<br />
who is a qualified glider pilot; who is the holder of a private pilot’s licence; or<br />
who has qualified to wear brevet in any H.M Service, provided that in each case<br />
the Leader or Rover concerned is participating in Scout aviation activities.<br />
